    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Patent Agent - Vice President, Program and Project Management</p><p>We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Patent Agent - Vice President, Program and Project Management to join our Data, Intellectual Property, Technology &amp; Innovation organization. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA or New York, NY.</p><p style=\"background-color: white; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 7.5pt;\">In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"color: black;\">Conduct invention harvesting sessions with business, product, engineering, and technology teams to identify patentable innovations.</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Perform patentability assessments, invention intake reviews, and related counseling.</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Oversee the preparation and prosecution of patent applications globally, working closely with inventors and outside counsel, as appropriate.</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Support development and execution of patent portfolio strategy aligned with business priorities, innovation initiatives, and competitive positioning.</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Conduct and support prior art searches, freedom-to-operate support, and competitive landscape reviews.</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Assist with due diligence reviews in connection with strategic transactions, partnerships, investments, or other business initiatives.</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Support patent-related litigation, pre-litigation, licensing, and dispute matters.</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Help develop processes, training, and guidance to promote invention identification and IP awareness across the organization.</li><li style=\"color: black;\"><p>Track and manage deadlines, outside counsel work, and patent portfolio-related reporting and documentation.</p><p>&nbsp;</p></li></ul><p style=\"background-color: white; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 7.5pt;\">&nbsp;</p><p style=\"background-color: white; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 7.5pt;\">To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"color: black;\">Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Approximately 5+ years of professional experience in patent preparation and prosecution; both in-house and law firm experience preferred.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Strong experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in complex technology areas.</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Significant experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital platforms, blockchain, or networking technology.</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Prior intellectual property legal experience within the financial services industry or comparable law firm experience preferred.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Knowledge of software and technology relevant to BNY’s business and willingness to learn new innovations.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Excellent written, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.</li><li style=\"color: black;\">Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Experience working closely with inventors, engineers, legal stakeholders, senior leaders.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left: 0in;\">BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $69,000 and&nbsp;$153,000&nbsp;per&nbsp;year&nbsp;at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and company- sponsored benefit programs.</p><p style=\"margin-left: 0in;\">This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>",
