This position requires physical labor, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety practices on the job site.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Sealcoat Application:</strong> Assist in the application of sealcoat to asphalt surfaces using various tools such as brushes, squeegees, or spray machines, ensuring an even and smooth application.</li><li><strong>Surface Preparation:</strong> Clean and prepare asphalt surfaces by sweeping, blowing, or power washing to remove dirt, debris, and other contaminants before applying sealcoat.</li><li><strong>Mixing Sealcoat Materials:</strong> Assist in mixing sealcoat materials to the proper consistency, ensuring the correct application process.</li><li><strong>Ensure Quality Work:</strong> Ensure that the sealcoating process meets company and industry standards for surface appearance, thickness, and durability.</li><li><strong>Assist in Equipment Operation:</strong> Help operators set up and maintain equipment, including sealcoat sprayers and other machinery, and assist in moving or positioning equipment around the worksite.</li><li><strong>Safety Compliance:</strong> Follow all safety procedures, including wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring safe practices are followed by all crew members.</li><li><strong>Monitor Weather Conditions:</strong> Understand weather conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) to ensure that sealcoating is applied under optimal conditions for proper adhesion and curing.</li><li><strong>Traffic Control:</strong> Set up cones, barricades, and signs to ensure a safe work environment and protect workers from traffic or other hazards.</li><li><strong>Cleanup and Maintenance:</strong> Clean up after each job, including washing tools and removing equipment from the site.
