    "description": "<h2>Opportunity Information</h2>\n<h2>About the role</h2>\n<p>Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is seeking a full-time physician leader in Complex Family Planning (CFP) to develop and lead a comprehensive, system-aligned reproductive health program at Sutter Health California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC). In this role, you will expand access to advanced contraception, high-risk family planning services, and evidence-based abortion care, while supporting education, quality improvement, and system integration. This position includes dedicated administrative time for program development alongside a clinical practice focused on consultative and outpatient care, with limited hospital-based responsibilities.</p>\n<h3>Clinical Scope</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide advanced contraceptive care, including LARC (Nexplanon, hormonal and copper IUDs)</li>\n <li>Manage medically complex patients requiring individualized contraceptive planning</li>\n <li>Standardize contraception practices and protocols at CPMC/SWBMG and participate in Sutter Women’s Health Service Line strategic alignment</li>\n <li>Deliver high-risk family planning consultations for patients with complex medical, surgical, or obstetric conditions</li>\n <li>Collaborate with subspecialties (e.g., MFM, oncology, cardiology)</li>\n <li>Provide preconception and interpregnancy counseling</li>\n <li>Offer comprehensive, patient-centered counseling on pregnancy options</li>\n <li>Develop or partner with college-based clinics to provide STI screening, treatment, and contraception services</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Program Development & Procedures</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop and standardize system-wide policies and procedures for medical and surgical abortion services</li>\n <li>Partner with pharmacy leadership to ensure safe, compliant medication workflows</li>\n <li>Establish evidence-based clinical guidelines and ensure consistency across sites</li>\n <li>Provide D&E training, proctoring, and consultative support for procedural care</li>\n <li>Build internal competency and reduce reliance on external resources where appropriate</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Partnerships & System integration</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Establish a formal relationship with Planned Parenthood and other community partners</li>\n <li>Create streamlined referral pathways for complex cases and services not available internally</li>\n <li>Improve care coordination and continuity across systems</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Hospital-Based responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Participate in OB hospitalist shifts as call responsibility</li>\n <li>Potential limited participation in backup gynecology call, based on system needs</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Administrative & Leadership responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop and implement a comprehensive Complex Family Planning (CFP) program</li>\n <li>Standardize clinical protocols and workflows across sites</li>\n <li>Partner with Women’s Health Service Line leadership</li>\n <li>Lead quality improvement initiatives and define program metrics</li>\n <li>Support provider education and workforce development</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>MD/DO with board certification/eligibility in Obstetrics & Gynecology</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience in complex contraception and high-risk family planning consultative care</li>\n <li>Training and/or experience in abortion care (medical and surgical) and commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered reproductive healthcare</li>\n <li>Experience leading program development, quality improvement, and/or clinical operations across sites (preferred)</li>\n <li>Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder partnership skills</li>\n <li>Eligible for California medical licensure</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Join Us and Enjoy</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Comprehensive benefits and compensation package, including CME allowance</li>\n <li>Retirement program</li>\n <li>Relocation assistance (if applicable)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Organization Details</h2>\n<h3>Why Sutter Health</h3>\n<p> Sutter Health offers a uniquely physician aligned environment, large enough to support innovation and investment, yet local enough to preserve the autonomy, relationships, and purpose that matter to clinicians.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is a premier multi-specialty medical group of over 400 physicians practicing in the greater San Francisco service area.
