As a core member of the software development team, you will contribute to scalable, high-performing systems by writing clean, efficient Python code and supporting the ongoing evolution of the platform. This role plays a key part in improving system performance, enabling new features, and supporting reliable, data-driven decision-making.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Primary Location:</strong> Toronto, ON</p>\n<p><strong>Work Model: </strong> Hybrid 3-Days Onsite</p>\n<p><strong>Employment Type: </strong> Contractor</p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop, test, and maintain scalable back-end services and RESTful APIs under the guidance of senior team members</li>\n <li>Contribute to code and database optimizations to improve system performance and efficiency</li>\n <li>Collaborate with product managers and engineers to implement new features and resolve technical issues</li>\n <li>Support the reliability and maintainability of back-end systems in a production environment</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>3–5 years of experience developing production-level back-end systems</li>\n <li>Strong proficiency in Python and SQL</li>\n <li>Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs</li>\n <li>Solid understanding of clean code principles, automated testing, and Git-based workflows</li>\n <li>Experience working in Agile development environments</li>\n <li>Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams</li>\n <li>Good problem-solving skills with the ability to implement well-defined solutions and troubleshoot issues</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>NICE TO HAVE</strong></p>\n<p>Experience with cloud environments such as Google Cloud Platform</p>\n<p>Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes</p>\n<p>Exposure to Domain-Driven Design and microservices architectures</p>\n<p>A growth mindset with interest in learning new technologies and continuously improving technical skills</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT ADASTRA</strong></p>\n<p>Adastra is a global leader in AI and data-driven transformation, helping organizations lead with artificial intelligence—responsibly, strategically, and at scale.
