    "description": "<p>We’re looking for an Reinsurance Actuary, AVP<span style=\"font-weight: bold\">. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">This position is located in our Pennington, New Jersey office and is eligible for a hybrid or remote work schedule. Reporting to the Head of Pricing US</span>, Hamilton Re and Hamilton Select, this newly created role will contribute and add value to the US-based Actuarial team through providing Casualty pricing support and analysis as well as specific project-based work.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Hamilton Re is our Bermuda insurer underwriting property, casualty and specialty insurance and reinsurance on a global basis.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Hamilton Select is our US domestic excess and surplus (E&amp;S) carrier and writes casualty insurance for small- to mid-sized clients in the hard-to-place niche of the US E&amp;S market.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you will do</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with pricing reinsurance contracts across Casualty, Specialty and other classes</li>\n<li>Experience pricing Casualty reinsurance contracts preferred</li>\n<li>Conduct profitability studies in various segments of the portfolio</li>\n<li>Maintain and update pricing models, pricing parameters, and data tables supporting underwriting divisions rating algorithms</li>\n<li>Assist in reporting underwriting results to Company and Group leadership</li>\n<li>Collaborate with other departments including underwriting, claims, and IT</li>\n<li>Assist in the production, interpretation and clear communication of analyses to support ad-hoc projects</li>\n<li>Complete benchmarking studies using internal and external data sources</li>\n<li>Analysis of claims trends to improve prediction of likely outcomes</li>\n<li>Support the future development of the actuarial pricing function and any associated business development work</li>\n<li>Support various other projects within the reserving and actuarial teams (e.g. claims inflation, reinsurance solutions, claims performance metrics and reserving trend analysis) primarily for Hamilton Re and secondarily for Hamilton Select.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you require for the role</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>ACAS or FCAS (or progress towards)</li>\n<li>Experience within the P&amp;C insurance and/or reinsurance industry, preferably focused on Casualty Reinsurance</li>\n<li>Experience with programming in VBA, SQL, R and/or Python preferred</li>\n<li>Familiarity with reinsurance terms, structures, and data</li>\n<li>Hands-on, proactive and flexible, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast paced, changing environment.</li>\n<li>Demonstrable ability to effectively communicate pricing and analytical findings</li>\n<li>Technical expertise &amp; capabilities within the actuarial field</li>\n<li>Ability to productively leverage data and technology</li>\n<li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
