We are seeking a Sr. Principal Software Engineer to lead the development and architecture of an innovative platform incorporating advanced AI capabilities. This is a high-impact role requiring deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership in building scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native applications.   This is a hybrid position requiring on-site work for three days a week.\n<h2>Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to</h2>\n<p><strong><u>As a Sr. Principal Software Engineer, you will:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead the architecture and design of a new SaaS platform with integrated AI/ML capabilities.</li>\n <li>Define and drive the technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability requirements.</li>\n <li>Research, design, develop, and maintain applications, user interfaces, data analysis tools, and instrument control software for thermal analysis, rheological, and calorimetric instruments.</li>\n <li>Evaluate system specifications and translate system requirements into detailed technical designs.</li>\n <li>Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to engineering teams across the full development lifecycle.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of AI models and services into the SaaS platform.</li>\n <li>Ensure software quality through code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to SOLID principles and secure coding practices.</li>\n <li>Contribute to the application architecture with a focus on scalability, maintainability, security, and performance.</li>\n <li>Support current programs, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and enhancements.</li>\n <li>Provide technical support to internal and external users as needed. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u> As a Team Member you will:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate with global teams.</li>\n <li>Share knowledge through demos, documentation, and mentoring.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate continuous technical improvement and thought leadership.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience</li>\n <li>12+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in a regulated development environment.</li>\n <li>3+ years of technical leadership experience, guiding software teams through architecture, design, and delivery of complex software solutions</li>\n <li>5+ years of proven experience designing and architecting SaaS solutions, including multi-tenant architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native services with major cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google.</li>\n <li>Strong experience with C#, .NET Core, and object-oriented design.</li>\n <li>Front-end development expertise using React or Angular with TypeScript.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in web technologies: HTML, CSS, REST APIs.</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure Cloud, Docker containers, and microservices.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with development tools such as JIRA, Visual Studio, VS Code, GitHub, YAML, Confluence, and Datadog.</li>\n <li>Experience integrating AI/ML models into production systems is a strong plus.</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of software security best practices and implementation.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Desired / Nice To Have:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience in analytical or medical device domains.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of TCP/IP sockets and RS232-serial communications.</li>\n <li>Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, BDD (Gherkin & SpecFlow), and continuous delivery pipelines.</li>\n <li>Ability to create roadmaps, manage risks, and communicate progress to stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Experience bridging technical and non-technical teams.</li>\n <li>Background in cross-functional product development involving hardware and software components.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Company Description</h2>\n<p>Waters Corporation (NYSE:WAT) is a global leader in life sciences and diagnostics, dedicated to accelerating the benefits of pioneering science through analytical technologies, informatics, and service.
