Our modern facility is thoughtfully designed to promote holistic healing, featuring contemporary amenities, six outdoor therapeutic spaces, and a calming environment that fosters recovery and well-being for both patients and staff.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We provide compassionate, evidence-based mental healthcare for adolescents, adults, and older adults within a supportive, collaborative setting that values clinical excellence and teamwork.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p>\n<p>We are currently seeking an <strong>Activity Therapist Manager</strong> to join our clinical team. In this leadership role, you will oversee and ensure the delivery of an effective, high-quality activity therapy program that supports the individualized treatment needs of the patients we serve.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Plan, develop, coordinate and evaluate the overall program of activity therapies, which may include occupational, music and recreational therapy, with other activities.</li>\n <li>Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.</li>\n <li>Recommend policies and procedures for activity therapy programs.</li>\n <li>Screen candidates for programs and place in the programs best suited to individual needs.</li>\n <li>Conduct regular staff meetings to share information and communication, provide training and resources and promote staff development.</li>\n <li>Direct and supervise activity staff in their implementation of the activity therapy program and services.</li>\n <li>Coordinate activity therapy services with other treatment modalities and treatment team members, to support quality and compliance with program expectations, facility policies, industry standards and regulatory requirements.</li>\n <li>Responsible for the requisition of materials, supplies and equipment necessary for the effective operation of the therapy programs and corresponding budgets.</li>\n <li>Appear before various external professional groups to interpret and explain the objectives of the therapeutic programs of the facility.</li>\n <li>Carry caseload and supervise staff competency and licensure as applicable.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always.  When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints.  Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>OTHER FUNCTIONS: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreational Therapy or other recreation-based field which may be approved for national certification in the area of expertise required.</li>\n <li>Master’s degree preferred in some facilities based on state requirements.</li>\n <li>Four or more years' professional level experience working with the specialty/service of the facility is required.</li>\n <li>One or more years of supervisory experience required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>May require licensure as either: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) or currently in the process of obtaining national certification, depending on state requirements. </li>\n <li>Eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or as an activity professional by a recognized accrediting body on or after October 1, 1990; or</li>\n <li>Has 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years, one of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program; or</li>\n <li>Is a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or </li>\n <li>Has completed a training course approved by the</li>\n <li>CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).</li>\n <li>First aid may be required based on state or facility.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>HFORD</p>\n<p>#LI-HFBH</p>",
