As one organization, we offer expanded resources, streamlined operations, and increased opportunities for growth and development. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Join us to be part of a dynamic, collaborative environment dedicated to innovation and customer success. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>An Average Day:</strong>As the Cybersecurity Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure information systems that support mission-critical operations. You will utilize technical expertise in endpoint security, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and compliance within Windows and Linux enterprise environments. You will also serve as a key technical contributor, supporting both defensive cyber operations and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities. Additionally, in this position you will:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity controls to protect enterprise systems and networks.</li>\n <li>Administer and optimize Trellix ePO (formerly McAfee ePO) for endpoint protection, policy enforcement, threat detection, and incident response across Windows and Linux systems.</li>\n <li>Operate and maintain ACAS/Nessus vulnerability scanning solutions; analyze findings and support remediation efforts.</li>\n <li>Develop, maintain, and enhance Splunk dashboards, alerts, and correlation rules for security monitoring, log analysis, and threat detection.</li>\n <li>Perform technical security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and configuration compliance reviews.</li>\n <li>Support RMF activities including SSP development, POA&M management, control implementation, and continuous monitoring.</li>\n <li>Apply STIGs and SCAP benchmarks to Windows and Linux systems; validate compliance and document results.</li>\n <li>Analyze security events, logs, and alerts to identify indicators of compromise and support incident response actions.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity leadership to implement risk mitigations.</li>\n <li>Provide technical recommendations to improve overall cybersecurity posture based on emerging threats and trends.</li>\n <li>Develop technical documentation including SOPs, security procedures, and assessment reports.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C), we will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.</li>\n <li>Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility or have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.</li>\n <li>Will be subject to a federal background investigation.</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).</li>\n <li>3+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity engineering, system security, or cyber defense roles.</li>\n <li>Current CompTIA Security+ Ce certification required</li>\n <li>One of the two following certs with the ability to obtain the second post hire:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Current DISA 201 ePO and 301 ePO certifications required</li>\n   <li>Current Splunk certification required (Admin, Engineer, Analyst or Architect certs will be accepted)</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Advanced experience with Trellix ePO administration in enterprise environments.</li>\n <li>Strong proficiency with Splunk SIEM, including SPL queries, dashboards, alerts, and reporting.</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with ACAS/Nessus vulnerability scanning and remediation tracking.</li>\n <li>Expertise securing Windows and Linux operating systems, including system hardening and patch management.</li>\n <li>Experience with STIGs, SCAP, and configuration compliance validation.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of network and host-based security technologies including EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and SIEM.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) to support security operations.</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of NIST RMF and system authorization lifecycles.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $82,000.00/Yr. - USD $131,200/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
