At Fairmont Orchid’s hottest new restaurant guests explore the long-running creative culinary exchange between Hawai’i and Japan at our Traditional northern Japanese grill utilizing centuries-old practices of robatayaki: fireside cooking, grilled to perfection. Originating from Hokkaidō, Japan, robatayaki reflects the seafaring lifestyle: seasoned fishermen grilling up their fresh catch over the irori, or glowing white coals, served sizzling hot.</p><ul></ul><p><strong>What you will be doing:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide unique dining experiences to all of our guests through warm, personal &amp; detailed service in a luxury, upscale and fast paced environment.</li><li>Ensure a positive first impression of the restaurant for our guests through detailed cleanliness, set-up and ambiance control.</li><li>Prepare appropriately for anticipated dining traffic by creating communication for servers &amp; designating server section assignments.</li><li>Ensure guests receive warm welcome, timely service and a fond farewell using guest names to offer a personalized service</li><li>Maintain menus to ensure we always have an adequate clean supply</li><li>Ensure cleanliness &amp; orderliness of host stand including surrounding work areas.&#xa0;</li><li>Control the flow of service in the dining outlet by seating guests in station rotation while maintaining the guest center reservation management system (Open Table)</li><li>Handle reservation inquiries, take incoming telephone calls, note special requests by guests and indicate special attention to VIP guests</li><li>Perform opening/closing side duties as assigned and set all tables according to standards and procedures</li><li>Assist other Food &amp; Beverage outlets with their operations during peak times or when required</li><li>Apply necessary precautions with regards to the hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)</li><li>Be well versed in hotel fire &amp; life safety/emergency procedures</li><li>Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times</li><li>Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel</li></ul>",
