Our New York practice has experienced exponential growth over the last year, and we are searching for another great addition to our team! The position involves handling a broad range of General Liability litigation matters including personal injury, motor vehicle, property damage, construction and labor law, and product liability. 3rd-party insurance coverage experience is a plus. The successful candidate will have no less than fifteen years of experience handling General Liability litigation, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to develop and maintain a good relationship with clients. The successful candidate must have significant first chair trial experience and be willing to try cases on behalf of the firm&rsquo;s clients. This Partner will also be required to manage a significant book of business as they will be considered as a possible long-term successor to current partners. Weber Gallagher&rsquo;s NY offices operate on a hybrid basis. A weekly regular presence in either our Garden City or NYC/Manhattan office is required.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong><u>Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution.</li><li>Draft pleadings, answer written discovery, take depositions, and participate in arbitrations and trials.</li><li>Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.</li><li>Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to develop sound case strategies.</li><li>Communicate with clients, the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.</li><li>Provide regular and timely updates to clients on case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.</li><li>Work collaboratively with partners, associates, and legal staff.</li><li>Manage a book of business while adhering to billing and budget requirements.</li><li>Ability to travel for court, client meetings, etc.</li><li>Handle trials on a first chair basis.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Requirements:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>15+ years of experience, preferably in defense litigation.</li><li>J.D. from an accredited law school.</li><li>NY bar license, active and in good standing, required.</li><li>Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.</li><li>Excellent communication skills with clients, judge, co-counsel and opposing counsel.</li><li>Proven track record of success in courtroom appearances, depositions, and settlement negotiations.</li><li>Proven track record of first chair trial experience through jury selection to verdict.</li><li>Demonstrated interest in defense litigation.</li><li>Clerkship experience, a plus.</li><li>Ability to juggle and manage a robust book of business.</li><li>Experience in 3rd-party insurance coverage is a plus.</li><li>Work in the Long Island or NYC or Long Island office in a hybrid setting.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Weber Gallagher is a thriving and growing firm with more than 160 legal professionals in 13 locations.
