    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Your Opportunity</strong></p>\n<p>Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Engineer-Structures to work independently on small and medium projects, and as a team leader of larger projects responsible for work of Structural Engineers and structural BIM team members. The Senior Structural Engineer will be able to evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems or products for a project.&nbsp; Additional responsibilities include:</p>\n<p><strong>Your Responsibility</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects</li>\n <li>Development of job specific-discipline specifications independently for less complex projects</li>\n <li>Lead junior engineers in complex projects</li>\n <li>Leads the coordination with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines</li>\n <li>Independently perform Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders</li>\n <li>Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.</li>\n <li>Communicate design issues with solutions to the design team and Owner clients</li>\n <li>Knowledge of industry standard design processes and understanding of construction means and methods</li>\n <li>Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service</li>\n <li>Assist with development of design standards</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Your Capabilities and Credentials</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Requisite knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable building codes</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction means and methods, materials, and industry standards</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of Architects, Engineers, and Owner clients effectively</li>\n <li>Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule</li>\n <li>Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings</li>\n <li>Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought</li>\n <li>Personally accountable and able to work with remote team members</li>\n <li>Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 5 years of related experience&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, Master’s Degree preferred</li>\n <li>Professional Engineering license is required, Structural Engineering license is preferred</li>\n <li>Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit)</li>\n <li>Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite)&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
