Utilize state-of-the-art tools and technologies to design and develop digital models of bridges, contributing to transformative infrastructure solutions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Learn more about our Bridge and Structures Engineering practice and ongoing work at VHB: Bridge and Structures Engineering | VHB</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform structural modeling, design, and oversight for bridge and other transportation infrastructure projects</li>\n <li>Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates, and calculation packages</li>\n <li>Provide technical and training support to structural engineering staff</li>\n <li>Conduct quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc.</li>\n <li>Assist in preparing qualification packages, proposals, and/or contracts involving technical approach, costs, and scheduling</li>\n <li>Provide project management support</li>\n <li>Lead structural inspections/evaluations and associated load capacity ratings</li>\n <li>Review fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviews</li>\n <li>Assist project managers with coordination between various groups working on structural projects (e.g., highway, pedestrian, and railroad bridges; commuter rail stations; marine structures; energy projects; retaining walls)</li>\n <li>Participate in the proposal process, determining client requirements and developing plans, specifications, quantities of materials, construction cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, and related documents.</li>\n <li>Prepare technical reports and sections of proposals and/or contracts</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills & Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience completing engineering studies, design reports, compiling contract documents, and developing contract plans in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures</li>\n <li>Strong familiarity with any of the following structural engineering software (e.g., Mathcad, FB-MultiPier, ATLAS, STAAD Pro, LARSA 4D, AASHTOWare, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, FDOT Structures Design Programs, etc.)</li>\n <li>Model-based design experience is a strong plus, including:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Bentley OpenBridge and OpenRoads</li>\n   <li>AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit/Infraworks/Inventor</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and quality</li>\n <li>Strong technical skills in bridge/structural design and critical thinking</li>\n <li>Strong organizational and time management skills</li>\n <li>Effective and comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment</li>\n <li>Demonstrated excellence in verbal presentations and technical writing</li>\n <li>Experience with and motivation to lead and mentor junior staff</li>\n <li>Project management and mentorship skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>8+ years of structural bridge/transportation design experience required</li>\n <li>B.S. in Civil Engineering required (structural emphasis preferred)</li>\n <li>PE license required </li>\n</ul>\n<p>The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $170,000 for the our Tysons, VA and Washington, DC locations. This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
