Description
Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: : Department of Defense Secret security clearance is ontainable within a reasonable time from hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities
Manages technical deliverables and coordinates technical review boards to review decisions with broad program impact
Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliant with company policies, procedures, and quality standards
Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program sub-teams and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company
Drives development teams to ensure products are delivered on time according to the development schedule
Works with the Program Management team and CHENG to understand priorities and drive the execution of these priorities
Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain designs to program management and the Navy customer team
Interact with customers at technical levels
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates should have technical acumen, an educational background, and experience in hardware development.
Experience as SME, Technical lead, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Chief Engineer, or other engineering leadership role that demonstrated team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate experience working in ambiguity, deriving requirements, and making decisions quickly to align with high-level strategy
Experience leading teams of integrated engineering disciplines throughout the lifecycle of development of a large and complex system
Experience coordinating with external suppliers
Experience briefing senior leadership
Highly proficient problem-solving skills in complex environments
Highly proficient communication skills, with the ability to clearly report relevant information and effectively convey project topics to diverse audiences
Familiarity with hardware and system integration testing (Assembly Level Test / Unit Test / Integration Test / System Performance Test)
Familiarity with US Navy product development and shipboard qualification process
Familiarity with System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process
Travel may be required as part of this position
Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
Education and Experience
BS in Engineering or similar degree (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of experience
Navy experience a plus
