This position requires a technically proficient professional capable of troubleshooting complex issues while working under general supervision.</p>\n<h2>Background</h2>\n<p>Ardent Eagle Solutions (AES) is seeking a <strong>Network Engineer II</strong> to support a Department of Commerce (DOC) program. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) in a secure, mission-driven environment.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Install, configure, and maintain <strong>LAN/WAN network infrastructure</strong> for program operations</li>\n <li>Monitor and manage network performance to ensure <strong>availability, reliability, and efficiency</strong></li>\n <li>Evaluate and support network-related <strong>hardware and software</strong>, including:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Routers, switches, and firewalls</li>\n   <li>Telecommunications equipment</li>\n   <li>Peripheral and output devices</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Enforce and support <strong>network security procedures and protocols</strong> in alignment with federal standards</li>\n <li>Install, configure, and maintain <strong>network software and systems</strong></li>\n <li>Troubleshoot and resolve <strong>moderately complex network and connectivity issues</strong></li>\n <li>Implement and support <strong>network policies, procedures, and standards</strong></li>\n <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network services</li>\n <li>Provide <strong>technical guidance and training</strong> to end users and junior staff, as needed</li>\n <li>Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Approximately <strong>2–4 years of experience</strong> in network engineering or a related IT field</li>\n <li>Experience supporting <strong>LAN/WAN environments</strong>, including networks of approximately <strong>25 to 100 nodes</strong></li>\n <li>Working knowledge of networking concepts, including:\n  <ul>\n   <li>TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP</li>\n   <li>Routing and switching fundamentals</li>\n   <li>Network security principles</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Experience troubleshooting network performance and connectivity issues</li>\n <li>Ability to apply standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the networking field</li>\n <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently under <strong>general supervision</strong> while managing competing priorities</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education</h2>\n<p><strong>Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS)</strong> in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field</p>\n<ul>\n <li><em>Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree</em></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Certification(s)</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)</li>\n <li>CompTIA Network+</li>\n <li>CompTIA Security+</li>\n <li>Other relevant network engineering certifications</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Compensation</h2>\n<p>The annual rate for this position is $95,000 - $135,000 per year. Compensation will be discussed in greater detail with candidates who advance in the interview process, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of qualifications and alignment with role requirements.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Compensation Disclaimer:</strong>The compensation range provided represents a general guideline. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the worksite and be able to reliably report on-site as required.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position follows a standard <strong>40-hour work week</strong>, Monday through Friday.
