    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Under the supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, the Phlebotomist ensures accurate specimen collection, labeling, and handling. They maintain a clean environment, support patient comfort and safety, and help educate and reassure patients during procedures.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Specimen Collection: Accurately interprets provider test orders and follows approved standard operating procedures for all specimen collections.</li>\n <li>Specimen Accessioning: Accurately uses the HIS and LIS for patient registration and test order entry.</li>\n <li>Specimen Processing:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Evaluates provider test orders and collects specimens for acceptability and determines rejections according to established guidelines.</li>\n   <li>Accurately labels aliquot samples as required.</li>\n   <li>Recognizes and corrects defects before they are passed on to the next step of the process.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Computer: Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of the HIS and LIS software systems in all job-related functions.</li>\n <li>Team Member Training: Assists with training of team members and students.</li>\n <li>Patient Experience/Customer Service: Models compassionate, patient-centered care by ensuring comfort during specimen collection, addressing concerns with empathy, and maintaining a professional, respectful demeanor to enhance the overall patient experience.
