Our avocados are harvested at exactly the right time, packed to perfection, and delivered fresh for enjoyment worldwide.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Over the years, as West Pak&rsquo;s relationships and reputation grew, operations expanded through larger facilities and broader distribution. Our company has since grown to 6 distribution facilities, exceeding 300,000 square feet across the United States and Mexico. Today, West Pak avocados are sourced from over 1,000 growers owning over 65,000 acres across California, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and Peru. Current distribution includes 350+ customers throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan, China, South Korea, Hong Kong, and the Middle East.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Primary Duties &amp; Responsibilities&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor provides direction and coordinates the activities of workers responsible for picking products and preparing them for same-day shipping both nationally and internationally.</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensures items are prepared for shipment</li><li>Study and standardize procedures to improve the efficiency of workers</li><li>Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures</li><li>Enforce the proper maintenance and record keeping of forklifts, coolers, and other equipment used by the Shipping Department</li><li>Required to manage all employees and is responsible for the performance throughout operational hours</li><li>Will be required to monitor all cash sale transactions and ensure all currency is accounted for every day</li><li>Required to determine space availability in coolers to ensure proper management of inventory</li><li>Will be required at times to assist workers performing office clerk duties, shipping, and receiving activities</li><li>Determine, as per Famous, which orders are required to be shipped</li><li>Ensure employees are preparing future orders as designated by Famous</li><li>Perform department reports on a weekly basis and inform upper management personnel of any changes</li><li>Require that all safety procedures be followed by employees</li><li>Report any unsafe acts that occur within the facility</li><li>Maintains departments ISO procedures and work instructions up to date</li><li>Oversees warehouse inventory accuracy and management throughout the department</li><li>Responsible for on-site safety, environment, health, and site security</li><li>Accepts the supervisory role as it is intended, including the ability to lead, motivate, and instill confidence and cooperation among the employees</li><li>Will be required to perform various tasks outside his/her job description</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Education &amp; Experience</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Associate&#39;s degree or equivalent experience</li><li>Minimum 5 years of shipping and receiving experience in a lead or supervisory role&nbsp;</li><li>Famous experience, a plus<strong>&nbsp;</strong></li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Skills</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Attention to Detail</li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required</li><li>Leadership competencies that lead and inspire others &ndash; drives for exceptional results</li><li>Proficient computer skills required &ndash; Word, Excel, and Outlook</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Working Hours</u></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be willing to work flexible schedules; able to work Saturdays and, in special circumstances, Sundays</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Physical Requirements/Working Conditions</u></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The essential functions of this job require frequent standing, walking, and upper-body movements. Specific vision acuity required by this job includes close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and color vision when cleaning products. Physical demands include bending, stooping, and reaching above and below shoulder level. Lifting and carrying are also essential. The employee will also be in contact with chemical products and machinery.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Additionally, the incumbent will work near moving mechanical parts and stacks, and may be exposed to heights and surfaces. There is moderate noise in the work environment. The incumbent for this position may be on call for emergencies, as required by business needs.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The noise level is frequently quiet or moderately quiet, at or below 70 decibels, and in the product plant areas, noise levels can exceed 80 decibels when machinery is operating.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The incumbent may be exposed to situations that involve occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.), with or without assistance. There will be exposure to working in hot or cold environments (38&deg;F-60&deg;F) and frequent exposure to hot or wet (humid) locations.&nbsp;</p>\n",
