    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Randall Children’s Hospital and the Child Abuse Response and Evaluation Services Northwest (CARES NW) in Portland, Oregon, are pleased to announce that we are recruiting for a full time<strong> Child Abuse Pediatrician.</strong> The specialist will join a well-developed inpatient and outpatient multidisciplinary consultation program for suspected child abuse and neglect. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This full time position offers excellent opportunities for inpatient and outpatient clinical child abuse practice, teaching, prevention work, and community involvement in multidisciplinary teams. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About CARES Northwest:</strong></p>\n<p>CARES NW is NCA accredited and is one of the oldest and largest outpatient child abuse assessment programs in the United States. It is a collaboration of 4 major health care systems and provides medical evaluation for over 1500 patients each year. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About Randalls Children's Hospital: </strong></p>\n<p>Randall Children’s Hospital (a 501(c) 3 organization) is a 175-bed new full-service hospital with Level 1 trauma designation, a full time pediatric Emergency Department, large inpatient acute care units, and a PICU and level 4 NICU. The hospital has over 200 pediatric sub-specialty professionals in both medical and surgical areas including 24-hour Pediatric Hospitalist coverage. As we consider qualified candidates, we are committed to building a culture that values diversity and is reflective of those we care for.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical evaluations of children for suspected abuse and neglect. </li>\n <li>Legally acceptable reports of evaluations.</li>\n <li>Assessments for suspected abuse. </li>\n <li>Provision of quality services.</li>\n <li>Telephone consultations to professionals in the community and state on medical aspects of suspected abuse. </li>\n <li>Promotion of community awareness of child abuse issues through educational programs. </li>\n <li>Expert testimony when subpoenaed to depositions or trials on cases. </li>\n <li>Continuing education for child abuse examiners. </li>\n <li>Provides call coverage for child abuse consultations or examinations as necessary. </li>\n <li>Outpatient general pediatrics clinic time is potentially available if interest.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent. Specialty training in child abuse preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Experience: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum three (3) years clinical experience evaluating children for concerns of abuse.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Licensure</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical license for the applicable state</li>\n <li>Board certified Pediatrician or Board certified Pediatric sub-specialist</li>\n <li>Child abuse board eligible preferred, must be Board Certified in Child Abuse within 5 years of Board Eligibility</li>\n <li>BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Our Commitment to Health and Equal Opportunity</h2>\n<p>Our Legacy is good for health for Our People, Our Patients, Our Communities, Our World.
