The paraprofessional works in collaboration with the teacher or inclusion specialist to create an inclusive classroom environment where all students are respected, valued, and supported in their God-given potential. This role supports the mission of Catholic education by promoting a Christ-centered learning environment rooted in dignity, respect, and the teachings of the Catholic Church.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Duties</strong></p><ul><li>Coordinate with classroom teacher or inclusion specialist to implement instructional strategies, behavior plans, and accommodations for students with diverse needs.</li><li>Conduct small group or one-on-one instruction under the supervision of a teacher or inclusion specialist.</li><li>Oversee student engagement and task completion during classroom instruction, transitions, and activities.</li><li>Collect data on student progress, behavior, and participation as directed by the teacher or inclusion specialist.</li><li>Update documentation logs or notes as requested by the supervising teacher, inclusion specialist or administrator.</li><li>Organize instructional materials and resources to support differentiated instruction.</li><li>Guide and support students in developing independence, responsibility, and confidence in their learning.</li><li>Facilitate positive and respectful interactions between students, reinforcing Catholic virtues.</li><li>Communicate professionally with students, teachers, and families under the direction of the classroom teacher, inclusion specialist, or principal.&nbsp;</li><li>Report relevant student concerns to the appropriate school personnel.</li><li>Maintain a spirit of cooperation, flexibility, and respect for school policies and Catholic teachings.</li><li>Supervise and monitor student behavior in classrooms, hallways, parking areas, and other school environments to promote a safe, respectful, and orderly atmosphere for all students.&nbsp;</li><li>Apply consistent, fair, and faith-based discipline strategies that uphold Catholic teachings, ensuring a respectful, safe, and nurturing learning environment for all students.</li><li>Demonstrate and maintain a professional appearance that reflects the dignity and mission of Catholic education, setting a visible standard of excellence and respect for faculty, students, and the wider school community.</li><li>Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, reporting to work on time and adhering to assigned schedules to ensure the safety, supervision, and continuity of care for all students.</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to support instructional practices and behavior plans as directed by the teacher.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students and adults.</li><li>Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to inclusive education.</li><li>Capacity to reflect the mission and values of Catholic education in all actions.</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.</li><li>Willingness to grow professionally and spiritually through training and formation.</li></ul><p><strong>Basic Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Practicing Catholic preferred or commitment to supporting the mission of Catholic education.</li><li>Complete and maintain diocesan safe environment expectations.</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate’s degree or Paraprofessional Certificate preferred.</li><li>Experience working with children in educational or pastoral settings preferred.</li><li>Understanding of child development and ability to adapt to various learning styles.</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p><br></p><p>This position offers a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental and vision plans, STD/LTD fully paid by the employer, retirement plans including a 403b plan and a defined benefit pension plan.
