Description

OCH Technologies is seeking a Systems Administrator/System Management Console Operator (SMCO) for a position supporting the FAA from the William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. The SMCO will provide day-to-day operational system administration support to administer, monitor, and maintain all related software, hardware, and configurations for large, complex systems. Must have solid technical skills in Linux, Windows, Solaris and VMWare environments. This posting is intended to build a talent pipeline for anticipated future opportunities. Location FAA’s William J Hughes Technical Center in Egg Harbor Township, NJ Core Responsibilities & Duties Day-to-day operational system administration support to administer, monitor, and maintain a large-scale computer network and related software, hardware, and configurations. Providing technical and system administration support through troubleshooting, identifying and isolating issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing appropriate solutions to software and system issues as they occur. Responding to program-related issues, resolving problems, and stakeholder tickets. Prepare technical documentation that accurately depicts the problem and/or solution and provide to system owner. Identifying and analyzing issues that affect the performance of the system, and to work in close coordination with the development team and recommend solutions for the issues. Recommending and implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management. Analyzing and identifying discrepancies in the system, assessing the risks, and suggesting solutions while adhering to security standards. Resolving Linux system error, crashes, and disk space problems. Communicating effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers, in written and oral format Interacting with stakeholders including providing advice and troubleshooting of issues. Available for on-call support. Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups. Serve as first level support for customers seeking technical assistance; respond to incoming calls and emails regarding service-related inquiries for TFMS & DSP issues. Responsibilities may evolve over time to support team and organizational goals, but will remain consistent with the overall scope of the role.
