The Medicare Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for overseeing all billing and collections aspects of the Medicare and Commercial Insurance accounts receivable billing team. This role monitors performance and adherence to department policies and procedures, ensures timely billing, and maintains compliance with Medicare regulations. The Manager will lead a team of accounts receivable billers, maintain account receivable reports, train and provide day-to-day directions to the team. Essential Functions and Skills Responsibilities Collaborates with the Director of Revenue Cycle Management to develop strategies to maximize efficiency and performance. Ensures compliance with all AR department policies and procedures. Provides leadership, support, and guidance to the Medicare and Commercial Insurance A/R team. Develop and implement processes to improve revenue collection and financial reporting. Prepare monthly billing and account receivable reports. Monitor AR aging reports, analyzing trends in collection effectiveness, billing errors, and denial patterns to identify areas for improvement. Maintains complete and accurate billing and accounts receivable records. Oversee month end close and year end closing processes for the Medicare/Commercial billing team. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve billing issues and streamline processes. Assists with revenue collection by monitoring accounts receivables and performing billing functions as necessary. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations governing Medicare and Medicaid billing for hospice care, including timely submission and correction of claims. Responsible for maintaining compliance with all HIPAA regulations and requirements. Treats all patient information as confidential and utilizes protected health information on a minimum necessary basis. Perform special projects as needed. Qualifications Requirements/Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business or related field preferred. 5+ years of billing, collections, and reporting 5+ years of Accounts Receivable team management Strong knowledge of Medicare hospice reimbursement rules, eligibility, and compliance standards Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to pass DHS background study Preferred Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations Proficiency with EMR and billing systems (e.g., HCHB, NetSuite, or similar hospice/home health billing software) Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure Physical Requirements The physical requirements described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be made. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Pushing/Pulling and Lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds. The annual salary range for this role is $95,000-$115,00/annually. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: geographic location, relevant education, applicable certifications, depth of experience, and special skillsets. The total compensation package for this position may also include the opportunity to participate in employee benefits including our medical/dental/vision/pet insurance, disability and life insurance, paid time off, and 401(k) retirement plans, subject to applicable plan terms, and/or eligibility for other compensation.
