As we grow, we value people ready to grow a career that makes an impact far beyond just our daily workplace.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>As a <strong>Heavy Equipment</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Field Technician</strong>, your more typical responsibilities will include:</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, adjusting, and&nbsp;maintaining&nbsp;construction on various types of construction equipment</li>\r\n\t<li>Utilizing problem-solving resources such as DTAC, technical manuals, personal skills, and experience in order to perform diagnosis of equipment problems</li>\r\n\t<li>Requesting proper parts&nbsp;needed for repair through the parts department and keeping track of machine status</li>\r\n\t<li>Planning and&nbsp;executing&nbsp;the sequence of repairs</li>\r\n\t<li>Conducting engine underhauls, head gaskets, rear axle replacement, hydraulic valves and pumps, rock shafts, and transmission repairs</li>\r\n\t<li>Preparing&nbsp;accurate inspection and service reports, and&nbsp;maintaining&nbsp;other records as required</li>\r\n\t<li>Following&nbsp;company policies and government regulations</li>\r\n\t<li>Keeping work areas clean and orderly, while complying with company safety standards&nbsp;</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Job Requirements:</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>High School diploma or equivalent experience. <strong>Must have a valid, clean driving record to operate a field service truck.&nbsp;</strong></li>\r\n\t<li>Vocation or technical degree, or equivalent work experience or training. <strong>3-5 years or more of experience as a mechanic working on diesel equipment, specifically construction and/or forestry equipment is required. Experience as a field technician in heavy equipment industry strongly preferred.</strong></li>\r\n\t<li>Knowledge of service department operations, service department operations, and equipment technology.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Physical Effort: Field Mechanics regularly work on machines in tight and uncomfortable positions. They may stand for long periods of time while also having to bend, crawl, or lay on their backs when making repairs. Field Mechanics frequently lift objects weighing 50-pounds unassisted and move heavier items (over 50 pounds) with assistance of devices. Field Service Technicians will service machines both in the shop and outside the shop at customer locations.&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Working Conditions: Field Mechanics perform work both in the shop and out at customer locations. You occasionally perform work on loose-footing areas outside of the shop and in the field. There is often exposure to grease, dirt, dust, fumes, drafts, and loud noises of varying levels both in the shop and out. There is also frequent risk of burns, chemical irritations, cuts, strains, bruises, etc. Field Mechanics will regularly perform work duties outside in adverse weather conditions.
