As an aerial lineman, you’ll play a critical role in the installation, inspection, and repair of high-voltage transmission systems, working from helicopters. This position demands expert knowledge of electrical components and the ability to perform complex tasks such as mid-span operations, wire clipping, and equipment installation while maintaining strict safety standards. </p>\n<h2>What You'll Do</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Have vast knowledge of the transmission electrical system and its components.</li>\n <li>Install, maintain, and repair electrical transmission systems, including conduits, cables, wires, and related equipment.</li>\n <li>Work from helicopters, climb poles or use truck-mounted buckets to access equipment.</li>\n <li>Clip/unclip wire from the helicopter skid, HEC line, towers and ladders.</li>\n <li>Dead end wire from the helicopter skid, HEC line, Dead end boards and ladders.</li>\n <li>Maintain positive control of the wire during mid-span operations from the skid or HEC line.</li>\n <li>Cut out/Press mid span sleeves, install mid span equipment including markerballs, spacers, bird diverts and related equipment.</li>\n <li>String wire conductors and cables between poles, towers, setting lines in place and using rigging to adjust tension.</li>\n <li>Inspect power lines and identify problems.</li>\n <li>Test power lines for the presence of electricity, using testing equipment.</li>\n <li>Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.</li>\n <li>Adhere to safety practices and procedures, such as checking equipment and PPE daily.</li>\n <li>Erect/maintain structures and their components.</li>\n <li>Direct and teach laborers, apprentices, and groundmen.</li>\n <li>Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.</li>\n <li>Adhere to all DOT laws/regulations.</li>\n <li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Bring</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Class A CDL</li>\n <li>Union Journeyman Lineman ticket </li>\n <li>Ability to work long hours and move/lift at least 50 lbs.</li>\n <li>Compliance with OSHA and other Federal, State, and local safety regulations.</li>\n <li>Knowledge, skills, and abilities to work in the capacity of Power Lines without direct supervision</li>\n <li>Ability to supervise subordinate line workers</li>\n <li>Pass pre-employment and other drug screening requirements</li>\n <li>Travel required for position</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Get</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Hourly wages based on the Local Union.</li>\n <li>IBEW Union benefits</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Equal Opportunity Employer</h2>\n<p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
