EOE</i></b></p><p></p><p>SUMMARY: This position requires continual education and training in Medical Terminology, Anatomy &amp; Physiology. The individual will develop skill sets with patient assessment and fitting &#8220;off the shelf&#8221; and prefabricated Orthosis. This path can be utilized as a transitionary position for an individual who strives to become a Certified Fitter of Orthotics. &#160;<br>&#160;<br>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.&#160;<br>&#160;<br>&#61623; Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine their appliance needs and to identify factors that could affect appliance fit. &#160;</p><p>&#61623; Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients, and make adjustments for proper fit, function, and comfort. &#160;</p><p>&#61623; Instruct patients in the use and care of orthoses. &#160;</p><p>&#61623; Maintain patient records. &#160;</p><p>&#61623; Experience with HDMS, Inventory Management &amp; Purchasing.</p><p>&#61623; Experience verifying Insurance benefits</p><p>&#61623; Activities include identification, development and retention of key referral sources, including physicians, case managers, office managers, third party payors, etc. in physician offices, hospitals and clinics. &#160;</p><p>&#61623; Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures as they relate to the above duties.</p><p>&#61623; Must maintain a genuine care and concern for patients and their families.</p><p>&#61623; Must possess a personal vehicle in good working condition in order to perform site and home visits.</p><p>&#61623; Assist in the coordination of orthotics inventory levels.</p><p>&#61623; Must complete monthly expense/mileage reports as required by manager.</p><p>&#61623; Work &#8220;On-Call&#8221; as needed. &#160;</p><p>&#61623; Other duties as assigned by management.&#160;<br>&#160;<br>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES&#160;<br>This position has no supervisory responsibilities.&#160;<br>&#160;<br>QUALIFICATIONS&#160;<br>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be professional, prompt, familiar with HDMS and able to multi task. Developing positive relationships with internal and external patients and staff.
