Uses Ohio Building Codes to ensure jobsite compliance to the rules of the Ohio Board of Building Standards and to NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code.<br>•    Plumbing Inspector I/II: Reviews blueprints and engineering drawings for compliance and provides technical advice to design professionals, contractors, owners, and operators regarding Ohio Plumbing Code and/or local regulations. <br>•    Interim Plumbing Inspector: Prepares detailed reports on daily plumbing activities (inspections, investigations, evaluations, complaints) and maintains related records.<br>•    Works with other staff, sections, and departments providing environmental health plumbing knowledge in relation to plumbing code and/or communicable disease investigations.<br>•    Routine interaction with public officials, citizens, vendors, clients, patrons, and applicants to gather and process information; cooperative/coordinating responsibility with other departments.<br>•    Other related duties as assigned.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS:</span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Interim Plumbing Inspector:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>o    High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of practical and verifiable installation experience in commercial plumbing<br>o    Interim Plumbing Inspector Certificate issued from the Ohio Board of Building Standards<br>o    Successfully complete and pass the examination modules required by the Ohio Board of Building Standards for Plumbing<br>o    Must become Inspector within 1-year of employment by Franklin County Public Health as an Ohio Board of Building Standards certified Interim Plumbing Inspector<br>o    Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet insurability requirements.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Plumbing Inspector I:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>o    High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of practical and verifiable installation experience in commercial plumbing<br>o    Plumbing Inspector Certificate issued from the Ohio Board of Building Standards<br>o    Plumbing Plans Examiner Certificate issued from the Ohio Board of Building Standards and/or ASSE 6020 Medical Gas Inspector Certification is preferred<br>o    Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet insurability requirements.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Plumbing Inspector II:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>o    High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of practical and verifiable installation experience in commercial plumbing<br>o    Plumbing Inspector Certificate issued from the Ohio Board of Building Standards<br>o    At least 3 years’ experience as a plumbing inspector I with an Ohio Board of Building Standards Plans Examiner Certification <br>o    5 years’ experience as a plumbing inspector with an Ohio Board of Building Standards Plans Examiner Certification <br>o    Plumbing Plans Examiner Certificate issued from the Ohio Board of Building Standards; ASSE 6020 Medical Gas Inspector Certification<br>o    Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet insurability requirements.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">HIRING WAGE RANGE:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>•    Interim Plumbing Inspector: $25.78/hour - $29.65/hour. <br>•    Plumbing Inspector I: $28.38/hour – $33.35/hour. <br>•    Plumbing Inspector II: $30.24/hour – $35.53/hour. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>These positions are non-exempt.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Interested applicants should apply at https://franklincounty.bamboohr.com/jobs/ with: </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>•    Resume<br>•    Cover letter <br>•    Completed FCPH application (located: http://www.myfcph.org/careers) </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Deadline for Applying: Internal applicants (04/10/2026); External applicants (Until Filled)      </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">No phone calls please. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Franklin County Public Health is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
