Avery Dennison reserves the right to modify this information at any time, subject to applicable laws.</p><p>The Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of activities related to the service, repair, and preventive maintenance of machines, equipment, and facility structures. This role supports safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations by ensuring equipment is properly maintained and operating at optimal performance. This role is critical to ensuring \"uptime\" by bridging the gap between mechanical hardware, pneumatic power, and electronic control systems. In this role, you will work&#xa0;<strong>1st Shift, 7AM-3:30PM.</strong></p><p>Essential Job Duties Include:</p><ul><li>Perform all tasks in a safe manner, ensuring the health and safety of self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems.</li><li>Consistently follow department and company safety policies and procedures.</li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and support general housekeeping efforts.</li><li>Actively participate in safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.</li><li>Support team members and assist other departments as required.</li><li>Contribute to team decision-making, projects, and special assignments.ures (SOPs) and adhere to safety and environmental guidelines.</li><li>Review current processes and identify opportunities to improve product quality and process efficiency.</li><li>Help reduce waste, rework, and non–value-added activities.</li><li>Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives across the facility.</li></ul><p>Core Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Safety &amp; Culture: Perform all tasks with a safety-first mindset, adhering to OSHA standards, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and internal SOPs.</li><li>Systems Integration: Diagnose and repair systems where mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic components interface (e.g., PLC-controlled actuators or servo-driven conveyors).</li><li>Continuous Improvement: Identify process bottlenecks and suggest technical upgrades to reduce waste, rework, and non-value-added activities.</li><li>Operational Support: Support team decision-making and provide technical mentorship to equipment operators to improve machine longevity.</li></ul><p>Technical Breakdown: Requirements &amp; Duties</p><ul><li>Discipline</li><li>Overview of Requirements</li><li>Mechanical</li></ul><p>Proficiency in disassembling, repairing, and aligning high-speed rotating equipment, gearboxes, drive trains, and conveyors. Ability to use precision-measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to meet tight tolerances.</p><p><strong>Pneumatical</strong></p><p>Expert knowledge of compressed air systems, including valves, solenoids, cylinders, and FRL (Filter-Regulator-Lubricator) units. Must be able to trace pneumatic circuits and troubleshoot pressure drops or leakages.</p><p><strong>Electronic</strong></p><p>Ability to troubleshoot control circuits, sensors (inductive, capacitive, photo-eye), and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives). Basic understanding of PLC logic to diagnose whether a fault is hardware or software-based.</p><p><strong>Set-Up, Troubleshooting &amp; Preventive Maintenance</strong></p><ul><li>Diagnose equipment failures using a root-cause analysis approach to prevent recurring issues.</li><li>Perform advanced troubleshooting using multi-meters, schematics (electrical and pneumatic), and technical manuals.</li><li>Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) to minimize unplanned downtime.</li><li>Commission and calibrate new machinery, ensuring sensors and actuators are integrated correctly with the plant's control systems.</li></ul><p>Repair &amp; Mechanical Maintenance</p><p>Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment including:</p><ul><li>Pneumatic tools</li><li>Motors</li><li>Conveyors</li><li>Production machinery</li><li>Use hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and precision-measuring equipment.</li><li>Disassemble equipment to repair or replace worn or broken components.</li><li>Adjust and align mechanical parts as needed.</li><li>Clean, lubricate, and inspect equipment and components.</li><li>Inspect completed repairs to ensure proper functionality.</li></ul><p>Record Keeping, Inventory &amp; Housekeeping</p><ul><li>Order and requisition replacement parts, tools, and equipment.</li><li>Maintain accurate maintenance and repair logs.</li><li>Prepare reports related to breakdowns, downtime, and part availability.</li><li>Track shift metrics to identify performance trends and improvement opportunities.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and production floor.</li><li>Identify, label, and stage parts for maintenance activities.</li><li>Perform limited electrical repairs as required (within scope and qualification).</li></ul>",
