We work hard together—and with our clients—to deliver high-quality projects that are on time, on budget and beyond expectations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Southwest Division</strong></p>\n<p>Shimmick’s Southwest Division, headquartered in Irvine, California, focuses on large public owners in Southern California, across water resources, water treatment, transportation and transit markets. Over the past decade, the division has grown tremendously, securing major projects, including the $350 million North City Pure Water Facility in San Diego at the $200 million Groundwater Replenishment System in Orange County.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develops proficiency in the use of the Company estimating systems and processes. </li>\n <li>Recognizes, understands and applies estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for compiling all types of estimates.</li>\n <li>Recognizes how various processes/project actions and assumptions may impact the estimate and quantifies the impact. </li>\n <li>Assists in analyzing and using estimates to predict key project issues.</li>\n <li>Prepares and/or coordinates preparation of full project estimates. Provides complete conceptual and final estimating input.</li>\n <li>Understands construction means, methods, and sequences-singe discipline.</li>\n <li>Responsible for performing all aspects of estimating.</li>\n <li>Assists in the preparation of the Estimate Plan. </li>\n <li>Conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard estimating techniques, procedures, and criteria.</li>\n <li>May provide guidance to less experienced estimating personnel.</li>\n <li>Develops wage rate build-ups.</li>\n <li>Reads and interprets drawings, specifications, Requests-for-Proposals and contracts.</li>\n <li>Develops detailed material take-offs for procurement of bulk materials.</li>\n <li>Applies the various elements of Shimmick's cost structure (overheads, G&A, insurance, etc.)</li>\n <li>Develops cash flow schedules and estimates.</li>\n <li>Knowledgeable of the CAES estimating system.</li>\n <li>Prepares scope and bid package breakdowns for subcontract and vendor quotes.</li>\n <li>Prepares subcontract bid analysis for scope, cost, and price.</li>\n <li>Understands Earned Value Management (EVMS) theory and application.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Minimum Requirements:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.</li>\n <li>Experience leading estimating processes for complex civil infrastructure projects.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Estimating experience in Rail/Transit, Bridge, and/or water/wastewater treatment plant projects. </li>\n <li>Familiar with financial analysis (NPV, ROIC, ROCE).</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences.</li>\n <li>Understands estimating terminology and measures and recognizes processes/project actions that may impact the project.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Additional Information:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.</li>\n <li>This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The salary range for this position is between $190,000 - $240,000 depending on experience and/or education.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Shimmick's comprehensive benefits plan includes medical, dental and vision coverage; as well as options to participate in an FSA or HSA. The Company also provides employer paid STD, LTD, basic life and AD&D, and an Employee Assistance Program.
