    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong> The Underground Cable Splicer is a skilled position in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical underground distribution systems. The Underground Cable Splicer works safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground work.</p>\n<p><br><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Lead crew and represent the Company in absence of the Foreman.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Effectively conduct pre-job briefings.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Inspect the work of crew members.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Promote safety at all times.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Frequently work with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Capable of operating a backhoe.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Capable of safely operating and maintaining company equipment.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Able to identify primary and secondary voltage.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Understand grounding procedures.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Understand how to obtain a one shot on a recloser.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Capable of working in confined spaces.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Capable of properly installing and removing PPE and cover up.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Understand underground services, infrastructure and duct banks.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Understand how to phase out a line using phasing sticks.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Capable of planning safe work based on a job print or work order.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Capable of terminating different sizes of cable.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Able to properly inspect rubber goods and PPE.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Perform all other related work as required to complete the job&nbsp;\n <br>\n &nbsp;\n</div>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Able to perform rigorous physical labor.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Must understand flag and tag procedures.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Understands confined space requirements.&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Must demonstrate safe driving techniques.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Able to use hand tools on a continuous basis.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Capable of being exposed to dirt and power on a daily basis.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Must possess knowledge in identifying underground utility locates.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Must possess knowledge of tools for terminating cable.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Must possess knowledge in troubleshooting underground circuits.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Able to identify unforeseen obstacles that would hinder safety or production.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Must be able to Switch &amp; Splice.&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Must be familiar with induced voltage.&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Must possess knowledge of tools for terminating cable.&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Must possess knowledge of all aspects of underground distribution.&nbsp;\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Must possess knowledge of underground switching procedures.\n</div>\n<p><strong>Other Requirements:</strong></p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n 1-3 year minimum of experience is required.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n A valid Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Must be able to follow Company safety rules and all other Company policies.\n</div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:0px;margin-top:0px\">\n Willing to work over-time when requested.\n</div>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong><br>\n The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.<br>\n While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
