Provides psychological, physiological and/or behavioral assessments of patients. Administers a variety of neuropsychological tests which require advanced formal education to assess areas such as cognitive functioning, academic skills, personality and emotional development, and behavior. Develops ideas to facilitate research studies and proposes ideas for new research studies. Recruits, screens, and conducts clinical evaluations of potential participants. Assists in determining their eligibility to participate in clinical trials. Collects, compiles and analyzes data related to various psychological or behavioral studies. Extracts statistical data and prepares reports. Conducts interviews and schedules regular visits with study participants and their caregivers. Writes psychological reports and interprets results. Provides consultation and advice concerning post-study therapy, interventions, and behavior management. Educates patients concerning research procedures, investigational devices, and drugs. Maintains accurate and complete documentation on the delivery of mental health care services for study participants. Makes referrals to mental health professionals or services. May dispense medication in compliance with research protocols. Maintains required documentation. Attends and participates in regular administrative and clinical staff meetings. Conducts education or informational presentations for targeted audiences. May present study findings at conferences. Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A degree in education, psychology, social work or a related field. One year of directly related experience. Physical Requirements: (Sedentary); 1-10 lbs 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); Negligible 34-66% of the workday (frequently); Negligible 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 10 lbs max; Carrying of small articles such as dockets, ledgers, files, small tools; Occasional standing & walking; Frequent sitting Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing) Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Environmental Conditions: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks.
