This role focuses on managing and resolving complex, high-risk collections accounts within the gas utility sector. The ideal candidate will bring strong investigative, analytical, and customer service skills to navigate sensitive billing issues and support revenue protection efforts.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As a Collections Analyst, you’ll work cross-functionally with internal teams, outside agencies, and customers to ensure timely payment resolutions while maintaining a positive customer experience. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong collection or billing background who thrives in a fast-paced, analytical environment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This role is onsite in <strong>Springfield, VA</strong>.  Per our Client Contract, candidates must be <strong>Green Card Holders or U.S. Citizens. </strong></p>\n<h2> Responsibilities </h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct in-depth account reviews for residential and non-residential gas accounts within internal business systems.</li>\n <li>Investigate high-risk collections matters, including damage claims and billing disputes.</li>\n <li>Communicate directly with customers, contractors, government agencies, and outside collection partners.</li>\n <li>Support third-party damage collections efforts and manage internal/external inquiries.</li>\n <li>Ensure accurate billing adjustments, account changes, and customer communication.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with internal teams and law enforcement regarding revenue protection investigations.</li>\n <li>Maintain detailed documentation of findings and actions.</li>\n <li>Adapt to evolving business processes to support customer experience improvements.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2> Qualifications </h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Statistics, Finance, or a related field is preferred.</li>\n <li>3+ years of analytical or collections experience in a corporate or utility setting.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to explain complex issues to diverse audiences.</li>\n <li>Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) </li>\n <li>Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.</li>\n <li>Skilled in SAP, Oracle, or similar business information systems.</li>\n <li>Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and interpret data.</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.</li>\n <li>Comfortable working independently and using discretion in decision-making.</li>\n <li>Process-oriented with knowledge of business process improvement practices.</li>\n <li>Experience in utilities, energy, telecommunications, financial services, or insurance is highly desirable.</li>\n <li>Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2> </h2>\n<p><em><strong>4 Reasons to Join The Squires Group, Inc.:</strong> </em><em>1.
