This role is primarily focused on direct patient care, including clinical evaluations, surgical procedures, and specialty exams. The physician will work within a collaborative healthcare environment, ensuring timely, high-quality care while adhering to VA policies and clinical standards.</p>\n<p>This position offers a structured weekday schedule with no call responsibilities, supporting strong work-life balance while delivering essential specialty care to the veteran population.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide direct patient care in an outpatient urology clinic and inpatient setting (approximately 90% clinical care)</li>\n <li>Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of urological conditions</li>\n <li>Perform urological procedures, including but not limited to:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Cystoscopies, vasectomies, ureteroscopies, and transurethral procedures</li>\n   <li>Surgical interventions involving the prostate, bladder, kidneys, urethra, testes, and related structures</li>\n   <li>Endoscopic and fluoroscopic procedures, including use of holmium laser and ESWL</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Conduct inpatient rounds and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams</li>\n <li>Provide consultations and manage referrals to other specialists as needed</li>\n <li>Complete specialty exams (e.g., compensation & pension, Agent Orange evaluations) related to urological conditions</li>\n <li>Deliver patient education, discharge planning, and follow-up care instructions</li>\n <li>Adhere to VA policies regarding medication management and clinical documentation</li>\n <li>Maintain timely patient care in accordance with VA access and scheduling standards</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>License: The Contractor's physician(s) assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property. A North Dakota license is preferred but not required</li>\n <li>Board Certification: All contractor's physician(s) shall be Board Certified /Board Eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU)</li>\n <li>Copies of degrees and accreditations</li>\n <li>National Provider ID (NPI)</li>\n <li>Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Card</li>\n <li>Malpractice and medical liability insurance certificates</li>\n <li>Proof the provider has successful completion of an approved residency program in Urology during which 3 years were devoted to Urological surgery</li>\n <li>Annual Office of Inspector General (OIG) Statement</li>\n <li>Copies of Advance Cardiac Life Support/Basic Life Support (ACLS/BLS) Certifications </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>AKAHI ASSOCIATES LLC</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>AKAHI Associates is a premier provider of healthcare workers to various military treatment facilities across the United States.
