The Boy Scouts of America believes and understands that helping youth puts us on a path toward a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Our Kitchen Manager will <span>assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in our professional kitchen for our average 300 campers a week. Additionally, the Kitchen Manager's key duties are ordering food, adhering to safety guidelines, managing inventory, and overseeing the kitchen and dishroom staff.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Today’s summer camp staff are a diverse group of men and women sharing a dynamic career offering independence, achievement, and stability. This is work that makes a difference, work that calls one to continual learning and challenge, work that offers solid compensation, experiences, and advancement.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This is a seasonal position (mid-June to mid-August).</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Prepare all served food.</span></li>\n<li><span>Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours.</span></li>\n<li><span>Memorize, record, and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearance, and portions.</span></li>\n<li><span>Follow standard recipes and special diet orders.</span></li>\n<li><span>Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.</span></li>\n<li><span>Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes.</span></li>\n<li><span>Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances</span></li>\n<li><span>Providing guidance, motivation, and support to all camp visitors.</span></li>\n<li><span>Communicate with unit leaders, Scouts, visitors, and staff.</span><br></li>\n<li><span>Maintain high standards for personal appearance and hygiene.</span><br></li>\n<li><span>Obey and enforce all applicable policies, practices, and procedures approved by the New Birth of Freedom Council and the Boy Scouts of America.</span></li>\n<li><span>Know, understand, and implement emergency action plans when needed.</span></li>\n<li><span>Relay any issues that could impact the safe and successful operation of the camp to the Camp Director immediately.</span></li>\n<li><span>Exemplify all aspects of the Scout Oath and Law and serve as a role model for staff and Scouts.</span></li>\n<li><span>Complete all other duties as assigned by the Camp Director.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Desired Skills</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High moral character and strong leadership ability</li>\n<li>Working knowledge of Cub Scout and Scouts BSA programs.</li>\n<li>Familiarity with Hidden Valley Scout Reservation facilities and traditions.</li>\n<li>Auditory and oral abilities to effectively communicate.</li>\n<li>Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or other related fields</li>\n<li>Knowledge of ordering processes, kitchen equipment, and cooking techniques.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Requirements</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span> </span>Must be willing to accept and meet the Boy Scouts of America’s leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law.</li>\n<li><span> 18</span> years of age or older.<br></li>\n<li><span> </span>Offers for employment are subject to criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks.</li>\n<li>Auditory and oral abilities to effectively communicate.<br></li>\n<li>The ability of sight, Medical approval by a physician to work. </li>\n<li>Offers for employment are subject to criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks.</li>\n<li>Physical ability to walk and lift 40 Lbs.</li>\n<li>Physical ability to participate in and instruct outdoor skills.</li>\n<li>The ability to see and hear</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Compensation</span></span></p>\n<p>The New Birth of Freedom Council, Boy Scouts of America offers a competitive salary starting at $600/week, onsite housing, and meals.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>The New Birth of Freedom Council, Boy Scouts of America, is an equal opportunity employer.
