Leads site team that is responsible for purchase order creation, purchase order management, delivery assurance and exception message management. In collaboration with strategic sourcing supply chain management negotiates and purchases materials, equipment, supplies and services from vendors and subcontractors, and evaluate vendor quotes against negotiated commercial terms and material requirements. The work is performed in a fast-paced environment that requires a self-starter who is comfortable with multi-tasking, short deadlines, frequent changes, and an advanced ability to analyze, problem solve and communicate effectively with team members.</p><ul><li>Maintain MRP system item planning parameters (lead times, minimum order quantities, safety stock, ROP etc.), execute MRP weekly.</li><li>&nbsp;Lead Newark, NY Buyer team. Implements best practices, collaborates with supply chain manager, strategic sourcing team, and director of operations.&nbsp;</li><li>&nbsp;Supports S&amp;OP process.</li><li>Generate and maintain purchase orders and other required documentation in support of MRP for manufacturing and R&amp;D activities.&nbsp;</li><li>Leads the weekly material review meetings updating manufacturing and management on material status for in-work activities.</li><li>In collaboration with strategic sourcing team supports all phases of material sourcing including vendor identification/selection/qualification and material planning and analysis.&nbsp;</li><li>In collaboration with strategic sourcing team, supports vendor negotiations, and contracts for best price/best value and other terms and conditions in support of business unit plan.&nbsp;</li><li>Track, monitor and expedite part shortages ensuring uninterrupted flow of material to support manufacturing and customer.</li><li>Perform planning activities utilizing MRP system and other planning tools to ensure high level of service to internal and external customers.</li><li>Manage vendor issues regarding quality, delivery, cost, and other contractual obligations.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide strategic analysis and recommendations to management for continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, purchasing and inventory management &amp; control.</li><li>Accurate and timely maintenance of ERP system including item master records, BOM&rsquo;s, component pricing, vendor details, etc.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits related to sourcing and supplier quality.&nbsp;</li><li>Participate and provide input during production planning meetings.</li></ul><p><strong>Education and Experience</strong></p><ul id=\"isPasted\"><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree with a minimum of five years of recent and relevant business experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Two additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree.</li><li>Experience with product data management and configuration management processes&nbsp;</li><li>Advanced organizational abilities, oral &amp; written communications and interpersonal skills are mandatory. Continuous updates and timely feedback/follow-thru on all assigned tasks required.</li><li>Demonstrate superior ability to perform job with minimal supervision.&nbsp;</li><li>Analyze and resolve moderately complex problems, demonstrated experience with root cause analysis for problem solving.</li><li>Advanced ERP/MRP system experience as a user required.
