Tests and adjusts general operating and safety features of elevators such as speed, acceleration, leveling, braking, emergency stop, and alarm bell</li>\r\n\t<li>Installs/replace electronic control panels, switches, relays, signal devices, electric motors, generators and related equipment</li>\r\n\t<li>Inspects, adjusts, maintains, and repairs hoist motors and machinery, governors, door mechanisms, cables, hydraulic buffers, pumps, brakes, rails, guides and related equipment</li>\r\n\t<li>Read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout of system components and to select the equipment needed for installation or repair</li>\r\n\t<li>Assemble elevator cars, installing each car&rsquo;s platform, walls, and doors</li>\r\n\t<li>Connect electrical wiring to control panels and electric motors</li>\r\n\t<li>Test newly installed equipment to ensure it meets required specifications per elevator code</li>\r\n\t<li>Troubleshoot malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and control systems</li>\r\n\t<li>Dismantle elevator components in order to gain access to remove and replace defective parts, using hoists, ladders, and hand/power tools</li>\r\n\t<li>Repair and/or replace faulty components in order to return elevator to fully operational status</li>\r\n\t<li>Ability to travel with weekly overnight stays.
