    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px\">TITLE: <span style=\"color: #222222\">SOCIAL STUDIES/HUMANITIES TEACHER</span></span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px\">REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\">Primary Purpose:</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\">The Social Studies Teacher’s responsibilities include teaching elements of history, geography, politics, economics, religion, and culture to pupils.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\">Responsibilities:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Setting up schedules, lesson plans, and selecting learning material and resources that will help achieve curriculum objectives.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Analyzing needs, interests, strengths, and weaknesses of students, and developing lesson plans in accordance with these factors.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Monitoring progress and discipline and keeping parents and school counselors informed of learners who need extra support.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Establishing classroom and debating rules, and ensuring all students obey these rules.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Requesting appropriate textbooks and learning aids.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Organizing field trips and ensuring permission slips are handed out and signed in a timely manner.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Participating in school events and acting as a chaperone when required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Attending meetings, staff training, conferences, and other ongoing learning programs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Informing students of learning opportunities and preparing them for formal debates and other events.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\">Qualifications:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Native English speaker preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Degree in Education, History, Geography, or a related discipline.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Master’s degree preferable.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Relevant certification or license may be required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Excellent interpersonal, communication, and debating skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Ability to remain calm under pressure.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Strong multitasking abilities and sound knowledge of current events.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Strong cultural sensitivity.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Exceptional organizational and communication skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Dedication to students and education</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About American Baccalaureate School:</span></p>\n<p>ABS is a private, non­-profit school offering an American-based curriculum including a wide variety of advanced courses, and a college preparatory program, guiding students to become independent, intellectual global citizens.
