Summary
Reporting to the WorkBC Support Office Senior Manager and Service Delivery Senior Manager at Open Door Group (WorkBC City Centre), builds and maintains relationships with employers to identify current and future employment opportunities for clients. This position provides services to multi-barriered clients who require assistance in finding meaningful work including marketing job placement services to generate job leads and placements for unemployed clients, pre-screening clients and employers and conducting quality job matches and job referrals and provides placement-related coaching and support with clients and employers. The ISSofBC position will be working as part of a multi-agency team within the WorkBC City Centre Catchment operated by Open Door Group to connect job seekers with progressive employment, training opportunities, and holistic support.
How You Will Make a Difference
Develop and implement employer engagement strategies to expand job opportunities for clients.
Develop and maintain a network of resources and employers to ensure the availability of job leads for clients.
Lead in-person networking events such as job fairs, industry-specific sessions, employer talks, mini-conferences, and panel discussions.
Conduct and deliver presentations to employers and employer groups in support of client marketing activities.
Directly market clients with low skills and language levels, including youth and women with career gaps, to organizations to secure short-term unpaid placements.
Build and maintain positive relationships with prospective employers, resource persons, and other relevant stakeholders.
Arrange placement of participants in job shadowing or work experience opportunities that improve their chances of securing jobs commensurate with their identified skills and experience. Resolve placement problems and challenges in a supportive manner, facilitating positive changes for both parties.
Work with program staff, as appropriate, to identify and pre-screen suitable candidates for job postings, and conduct the necessary screening interviews and appropriate tests to facilitate quality job matches and referrals.
Conduct matches between the skill sets required by employers and the skill sets identified by the clients.
Prepare and coach participants for job and/or work experience placement interviews with employers. Prepare and match clients in the basic and essential streams with mentors
Assist clients facing significant barriers by directly marketing them to employers to secure paid placements.
Maintain necessary records and prepare accurate and timely narrative/statistical data for program reporting purposes.
Perform administrative functions to support marketing activities, such as preparing correspondence, reports, and records.
Participate in creating marketing strategies and activities with the marketing team, such as planning and participating in outreach and recruitment activities (e.g., hiring events and career information workshops).
Performs other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Management, or related field and a minimum of one-year professional experience in recruiting and/or talent acquisitions, OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Job Developer certification is an asset.
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral English at all levels of the organization.
Exceptional communication skills, including proficiency in public speaking and the ability to convey ideas clearly to diverse audiences, are essential.
Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to working effectively with diverse populations.
Proven ability to liaise and develop relationships with employers.
Stay abreast of local labour market trends and issues, especially those related to immigrants and/or clients with skilled professionals.
Access to reliable transportation and ability to commute between locations is required.
Fluency in a second language is considered an asset.
Possession of and the ability to maintain a clear provincial Criminal Record Check.

ISSofBC Value Proposition
Hiring Salary: $25.36-35.54 per hour.
