    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Under general supervision, the Insurance Billing Specialist is responsible for a variety of tasks relating to claims processing, collections & account follow-up. The Insurance Billing Specialist also contacts insurers, third-party administrators and responsible parties to resolve accounts issues.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensures all levels of insurer / governmental claims have been filed and are paid in a timely manner</li>\n <li>Investigates, corrects errors, and resolves all past-due accounts</li>\n <li>Communicates with insurers / governmental agencies representing LifeLinc</li>\n <li>Answers inquiries by phone and/or email from patients and/or payors regarding billed information related to payor policies</li>\n <li>Working Accounts Receivable weekly - starting with the most aged accounts – and has the ability to file reconsiderations and appeals with insurers / governmental agencies</li>\n <li>Works all claim denials and report all trends and issues to team leads</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>Qualifications\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)</li>\n <li>Two years or more experience in healthcare revenue cycle, denials management, revenue integrity, medical records, follow-up, hospital business office or physician practice office. Candidates with CBO experience are preferred</li>\n <li>Knowledge of & experience with health care information system technology</li>\n <li>Understanding of healthcare care billing & revenue cycle operations</li>\n <li>Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications</li>\n <li>Analytical strengths and attention to detail</li>\n <li>Familiarity with CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding</li>\n <li>Excellent computer skills</li>\n <li>10-key by touch</li>\n</ul>",
