    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">We are currently seeking a part time .6 FTE K-12 Special Education Teacher Consultant to join Integrity Educational Services and serve students throughout the district! </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Integrity Educational Services (IES) is the non-profit educational service provider for Hope Academy of West Michigan and Lighthouse Academy. Each and every day, we hold ourselves responsible to living out the values of Respect, Inclusiveness, Integrity, Persistence, Growth Mindset, Teamwork/Collaboration and Excellence.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>At our Lighthouse Academy locations, we offer residential programs serving youth and adults in detention facilities, correctional facilities or intervention-based programs as well as community programs serving court-placed students, English Language Learners (ELL), students with Special Education needs, etc. Our other school, Hope Academy is a general charter school in Grand Rapids, MI serving a large population of ELL and Title I qualifying students.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>So, if you have a passion for education, desire being a part of a values-driven team and want to serve at-risk youth, come join a growing team and make a positive difference in the life of a child!</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span>To learn more about who we are and who we serve, we encourage you to visit our website: <a href=\"http://www.integrityedservices.org/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.integrityedservices.org</a></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities and Duties</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work collaboratively with both general education teachers and special education teachers</li>\n<li>Excellent communication and management skills</li>\n<li>Ability to lead meetings involving difficult conversations</li>\n<li>Knowledge of eligibility requirements for various disabilities</li>\n<li>Knowledge of Michigan Standards and Benchmarks</li>\n<li>Knowledge of County electronic IEP forms</li>\n<li>Strong understanding of special education procedures</li>\n<li>Understanding of special education rules and regulations related to compliance</li>\n<li>Ability to plan specially designed instruction for students with disabilities</li>\n<li>Familiar with special education assessments both scoring and administration</li>\n<li>Perform individual evaluation of children which may include achievement tests and observation</li>\n<li>Prepare for and participate in IEP/IFSP process</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate and timely records</li>\n<li>File written reports in a timely manner</li>\n<li>Demonstrate professional conduct and exhibit professional growth</li>\n<li>Effectively plan and organize duties</li>\n<li>Comply with school district policies and procedures</li>\n<li>Effectively participate in meetings, committees, and other required district and building activities</li>\n<li>Comply with Medicaid billing procedures</li>\n<li>Prioritize student-learning needs over the customs, routines, and established relationships that can stand in the way of necessary change</li>\n<li>Achieve results by taking initiative and reflecting and acting on lessons learned</li>\n<li>Maintain his/her drive for results by demonstrating persistence, directness, and the ability to monitor and plan ahead for increased student growth and efficient instruction for at risk students</li>\n<li>Commit to the relentless pursuit of increasing student learning for at risk students</li>\n<li>Skillfully challenging the status quo by thinking analytically and conceptually, as well as problem-solving as it pertains to at risk students</li>\n<li>Perform other duties, as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications and Skills</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<span> </span></span>The minimum qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of the job such as education, competencies, experience, knowledge and skills. This should include any specialized knowledge and expertise applicable to the job.</p>\n<ul>\n<li>K-12th Grade Special Education Teacher with (LD) or (EI) Endorsement.</li>\n<li>Masters degree degree from an accredited college or university</li>\n<li>At least three years of experience working with emotionally/behaviorally impaired adolescents.</li>\n<li>Subscribe to the mission and values of IES and the respective School/Academy.</li>\n<li>Ability to apply verbal de-escalation skills as part of crisis intervention.</li>\n<li>Ability to effectively use technical/computer skills, and accompanying software to complete responsibilities</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">This position may require travel between locations in Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon Counties.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>",
