Description The Freight Audit Manager is responsible for owning the end-to-end freight audit to payment strategy, leading complex cross-functional initiatives, driving business-critical process transformation, and delivering actionable insights that influence transportation spend management. The successful candidate will combine analytical expertise with strong strategic thinking and a passion for using data to drive business decisions With a bias for action, you will hold a high bar for innovation, accuracy, and continuous improvement — influencing outcomes across teams without direct authority. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Own freight audit and payment strategy: Define and execute the long-term vision for freight audit operations across multiple regions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency at scale across high-volume invoice processing. Lead development, improvement, and troubleshooting of the Aerospace freight audit tool.   Drive large-scale process transformation: Design and implement automation frameworks, analytical models, and scalable mechanisms that eliminate manual effort, reduce cycle times, and enhance audit effectiveness across the organization.   Influence leadership: Identify, develop, and execute strategic analyses to uncover areas of opportunity. Present data-driven insights, recommendations, and business cases to shape transportation spend strategy.   Lead cross-functional initiatives: Serve as the strategic point of contact for Logistics Service Providers (LSPs), internal procurement, accounts payable, finance, and technology teams. Drive alignment on priorities, resolve complex billing disputes, and ensure timely freight invoice payments that deliver excellent customer and vendor experience.   Optimize freight costs at scale: Lead initiatives to identify systemic cost savings opportunities by analyzing freight expenses across regions, partnering with LSPs, and implementing controls that deliver measurable financial impact.   Build mechanisms for operational excellence: Establish KPIs, reporting cadences, and governance frameworks that provide visibility into audit performance, spend trends, and compliance metrics. Create a "learn by doing" environment that promotes continued customer focus and cost reduction across the organization. Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader: Mentor freight audit analysts and cross-functional team members on audit techniques and data analysis through documentation, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration — raising the bar for the broader team without direct management responsibility. Qualifications You Must Have BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field 6+ years of transportation and supply chain experience Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of results 6+ years of advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.) experience Experience navigating and using common TMS/freight audit software tools   We Value (Preferred) Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, PowerBI, etc.) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP)   Proven experience in Logistics, Transportation, or Distribution Center operations with significant knowledge of freight pricing structures, carrier contracts, and rate negotiations   Advanced problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.  Executive-level communication and stakeholder management capabilities   Track record of designing and implementing medium – to large-scale process improvements or automation initiatives that delivered measurable cost savings. Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
