    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:  </strong></p>\n<p>Under the general direction of the Principal Investigator or designee, the Research Program Manager II manages the day-to-day operations of short term and multi-year research projects. The Research Program Manager II is responsible for the implementation of research projects from inception to completion and manages and coordinates these activities.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Convene and provide overall direction to project teams, which may consist of data staff, research associates, research coordinators and faculty, for the development of project statements, work plans, study designs, grant applications, literature reviews, analysis plans, and project deliverables.</li>\n <li>Identify necessary resources to perform project work, monitor work progress including, data analysis, grant submissions, and report development, and oversee its timely completion</li>\n <li>Oversee development of data collection instruments, survey tools and interview guides, perform and oversee data analysis as necessary</li>\n <li>Abstract results from data analysis sets, summarize findings and incorporate pertinent information into project presentations. Deliver presentation of project results to Principal Investigator and others as required or directed</li>\n <li>Assume responsibility for communication with relevant staff in creating and implementing appropriate project designs and work plans, convene team meetings as appropriate</li>\n <li>Manage day-to-day logistics and operational needs of the projects</li>\n <li>Identify and address problems which may adversely affect performance of project work</li>\n <li>With the Administrator and/or Accountant, prepare draft budgets</li>\n <li>Advise and provide supervision of project staff and consultants and faculty associated with specific projects or assignments. Participation in the hiring and evaluation of project staff</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Masters’ degree in the Life Sciences, Public Health/Education, or related health care field; or equivalent.</li>\n <li>5 years’ experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating research programs, project management, grant submission, supervision of staff, and fiscal responsibility</li>\n <li>Experience working in and/or with academic institutions and federal grant programs strongly preferred</li>\n <li>Familiarity with the policies and procedures of funding agencies</li>\n <li>Ability to effectively communicate with diverse faculty</li>\n <li>Proven administrative and management ability in complex environments</li>\n <li>Excellent writing, editing, communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills</li>\n <li>Ability to travel to off-site locations</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Information</h2>\n<p>This position will help lead and support the largest national study to examine the effectiveness of school-based health centers to improve pediatric asthma care. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are seeking a highly organized candidate with significant research experience and passion to advance child health with interest in joining an efficient and hard-working team. We are seeking someone with interest and experience in addressing health disparities and conducting community-engaged work.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>An ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent skills in quantitative and qualitative methods, in academic writing and communication and have experience serving as a strong leader and manager of research teams and mentoring of students and trainees.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This person should be equipped to support and inform study design, as well as analysis,  interpretation and presentation of findings from large datasets and direct qualitative research. Finally, they should have strong skills of manuscript writing, including use of reference software and manuscript submissions to journals and abstract submissions, as well as experience contributing to grant submissions. </p>",
