We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community.</p>\n<h2>Description</h2>\n<p>This position designs and implements data analysis pipelines for data science and machine learning / artificial intelligence (AI) to meet specifications of faculty or senior staff either independently or in collaboration with research staff, trainees, and fellows.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Uses modern programming languages running on UN*X (Unix-like) operating systems with best practices such as version control, unit tests, and comments.</li>\n <li>Works with sensitive data in secure environments and adheres to legal frameworks that govern the data (e.g., HIPAA-compliance).</li>\n <li>Designs and maintains study databases (including relational databases and data lakes) to satisfy research project needs.</li>\n <li>Creates and maintains documentation of new and existing analysis pipelines to facilitate knowledge transfer.</li>\n <li>Contributes to research dissemination materials such as manuscripts and presentations and to research design materials such as project proposals.</li>\n <li>Performs project management or lab management duties according to well-defined specifications.</li>\n <li>May collaborate with on-premises computing professionals to configure and maintain physical systems, if needed.</li>\n <li>May supervise undergraduate and graduate trainees.</li>\n <li>Performs related responsibilities as required. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>A master's degree OR a bachelor's degree and two years of experience OR six years of experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.</li>\n <li>Desired experience includes machine learning, AI, informatics or related experience.</li>\n <li>Preferred degrees include mathematics, statistics, computer science, artificial intelligence, informatics, engineering, or a related field.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice.
