    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Cardiothoracic&nbsp;Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) classified as Level IV surgical position covering operating room, ICU, step down unit, and outpatient clinic.&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>OR responsibilities: first assist in cardiac and thoracic surgery cases, endoscopic vein harvest, open vein harvest, radial artery harvest.</li>\n <li>Hospital responsibilities:&nbsp; Preoperative admissions, consultations, medical optimization/ management, ICU, step down, and discharges.</li>\n <li>Outpatient clinic responsibilities: new consults, established patient care, postoperative follow up visits, and coordination of follow up care with other services.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Mayo Clinic may perform the following tasks in any authorized setting:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Surgical first assist</li>\n <li>Obtaining patient history</li>\n <li>Performing physical examinations</li>\n <li>Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures</li>\n <li>Formulating a diagnostic impression</li>\n <li>Developing and implementing a treatment plan</li>\n <li>Monitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions</li>\n <li>Offering counseling and education to meet patient needs</li>\n <li>Making appropriate referrals</li>\n <li>Prescribing and dispensing prescription medication in accordance with FL state laws and department policies</li>\n <li>Performing minor procedures and surgical procedures</li>\n <li>Demonstrates ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to patient's age-specific needs.</li>\n <li>Assist with ongoing departmental process improvement and policy development</li>\n <li>Other departmental or institutional committee assignments as needed</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><i>During the selection process you may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience.
