A full-time position comprises 36 hours per week , condensed into a 4-day workweek , excluding on-call duty. Your tasks Participation in the establishment and further development of our surgical department Professional guidance and training of our veterinary team (including specialist veterinary training and the creation and supervision of a residency program) as well as of veterinary nurses Interdisciplinary collaboration with our colleagues Performance and leadership of surgical procedures at the highest level Creation of diagnostic and treatment plans and comprehensive care of our patients Your profile Certification as a Diplomate (ECVS/ACVS) Extensive clinical experience in soft tissue surgery, with additional experience in orthopedic surgery and/or neurosurgery being an advantage Enjoyment of teamwork, knowledge sharing, collegial collaboration, and teaching High sense of responsibility, precision, and empathy in dealing with patients and their owners Motivation to help shape a new clinic and contribute innovative ideas Why us? Permanent employment contracts, attractive starting salary with prospects and additional allowances Full-time means 36 hours per week in a 4-day workweek A unique opportunity to be part of a new clinic from day one Paid continuing education (including reimbursement of travel and accommodation costs) with additional training leave Exchange with colleagues across the entire Tierarzt Plus Partner network Predictable working hours and compensatory time off – because even when things get busy, your personal life should not fall short About the location NIICE – competent, cooperative, stress-free With extensive expertise and a broad range of medical specialties, we will be there for you on-site in Potsdam starting in March 2026. As a small animal day clinic, we support general veterinary practices with complex cases through advanced diagnostics and specialized treatments — and we also accept emergencies. Our core areas of expertise include neurology, surgery, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, and ophthalmology. With competence and empathy, we care for our patients. Covering approximately 600 m², our modular interim facility will primarily welcome dogs and cats. We will be equipped with a wide range of state-of-the-art technology and comprehensive facilities, including a CT scanner, endoscopy, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, C-arm, our own blood bank, and a fully equipped ward with intensive care and oxygen units. It is important to us that animals feel as comfortable as possible during their stay. That’s why we follow the Cat Friendly and  Fear Free concepts: calm procedures, animal-friendly spaces, and a team specifically trained in stress-reducing handling. This leads to more relaxed patients, better cooperation, and more reliable examination results — a win for the animal, the owner, our staff, and the referring practice. To ensure we always operate at the forefront of veterinary science, we place great importance on continuous education and professional development. We actively support our team in this effort and encourage further specialization and the pursuit of advanced veterinary qualifications.
