Instruction and activities are designed expressly to promote subject mastery, develop grade-level competencies, and teach study skills. &nbsp;Able to work with a group of 10-12 students creating an exceptional classroom experience. Pay for certified teachers is $25 per hour. If non-certified, pay will be reduced and will be based on education and experience.<br />\r\nTutoring will mainly be provided in the subjects of Math, Reading and some Science.<br />\r\nThe Summer Learning Academy will run from June through August (exact dates to be determined). Monday - Thursday 7:30 am - 12:00 pm.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><br />\r\nEssential Functions<br />\r\nHelp students achieve a better understanding of specific subject material and in improving academic capabilities in designated areas.<br />\r\nHelp students develop the study skills necessary for academic success. &nbsp;Identify students experiencing difficulties and provide encouragement and alternatives.<br />\r\nProvide academic assistance to assigned students, individually or in a small group setting.&nbsp;<br />\r\nUtilize the resources in order to assist the student(s) in education endeavors.<br />\r\nAttend training sessions to increase competency in working with students.<br />\r\nDocument, track, and maintain daily progress and academic records of assigned students. &nbsp;Provide feedback regarding students&rsquo; progress as well as behavior.<br />\r\nAcknowledge student efforts, accomplishments, and progress.<br />\r\nIntegrate an asset-based positive youth development approach in the tutoring sessions.<br />\r\nAssist students in developing self-confidence, raising self-concept, and reducing anxiety or fear of failure in academic work.<br />\r\nWork with students to develop a high level of motivation in academic areas and positive attitudes toward learning and studying.<br />\r\nServe as a role model for students being served.<br />\r\nAdhere to all processes, procedures, rules, and regulations of the YMCA program, and School District.<br />\r\nHave fun and keep students engaged.<br />\r\nNon-instructional work may be paid at Program Counselor rate.</p>\r\n",
