The successful individual will develop and manage projects for the construction of new or modification to existing transportation,&nbsp;water &amp; wastewater, commercial, industrial, power, and institutional buildings &amp; structures, ensuring conformance with building codes. Perform responsible, professional level foundation &amp; structural and seismic analysis, building and structural inspections. The scope of projects handled by our department ranges from minor renovations to major projects.&nbsp;The Structural Design Engineer will be working with engineers and BIM modelers in Toronto-West head office and other Arcadis’s offices around the globe. This job will involve coordination with other disciplines in house and offices around the world. &nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Role accountabilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead the structural analysis &amp; design of structures and the preparation of drawings and specifications</li>\n <li>Carry out seismic analysis, seismic design, and seismic performance assessment&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Coordination with other design disciplines (Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical, etc…)</li>\n <li>Attend meetings and prepare presentations when required</li>\n <li>Prepare bid documentation for project pursuits&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Reviewing &amp; responding to submittals (RFI’s, Shop Drawings, etc…) during CA phase of projects</li>\n <li>Provide direction to, and work with, Engineering &amp; CAD staff</li>\n <li>Provide peer reviews of other engineer’s work</li>\n <li>Mentorship to Jr. Engineers</li>\n <li>Perform QA/QC activities</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an asset</li>\n <li>4-12 years experience in&nbsp;structural design</li>\n <li>Registered P. Eng in Ontario Province</li>\n <li>Registration in other provinces is an asset.</li>\n <li>Knowledge and understanding of Canadian design standards and codes.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of US codes and standards is an asset.</li>\n <li>Project experience on City of Toronto and TTC projects will be an asset.</li>\n <li>Ability to lead teams consisting of multiple engineers and CAD staff.</li>\n <li>Proficiency and understanding of structural design software such as ETABS, SAFE, Robot, SAP2000 is expected.</li>\n <li>Experience with Microsoft Office and software such as Bluebeam is expected.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of 3D BIM is an asset such as REVIT &amp; Navisworks.</li>\n <li>Strong project management and coordination skills with a strong ability to lead the structural design of projects.
