          "text": "<p><strong><u>JOB SUMMARY</u></strong></p><p>This paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job.</p><p>The Special Procedure Technologist Level I (SPT I) is an entry level training position. Under supervision, provides basic knowledge and competence in radiologic technology, imaging, devices, and provides scrub assistance for one of the following specialties: Pediatric Interventional (Body, Neuro, Pain), Pediatric Cardiac Cath or Electrophysiologic Procedures.</p><p><strong><u>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</u></strong></p><p>The essential functions listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification. They are not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, tasks, and responsibilities. Employees may also perform other duties as assigned.</p><p>Employees must abide by all Joint Commission Requirements including but not limited to sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patient rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings.</p><p>Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.</p><p>*Under direct supervision, assists the physician(s) during cardiovascular, interventional, neurovascular, and pediatric angiographic or other diagnostic or therapeutic imaging procedures.<br>\n*Assists in the operation of fixed and mobile angiographic equipment including x-ray system controls, diagnostic and digital image archival and power injectors.<br>\n*Performs required quality control procedures on equipment and initiates repair as necessary to maintain safe usage.<br>\n*Provides scrub assistance during procedures.<br>\n*Provide aid during intervention cases. (Ex. Prepping balloon, stent deployment, valve crimping and other tasks).<br>\n*Sets modality parameters on fixed and mobile angiography equipment.<br>\n*Enters data such as patient demographics in imaging equipment.<br>\n*Correctly archives images in Cardiac PACS and Radiology PACS.<br>\n*Provides basic understanding of imaging techniques, protocols and equipment functions.<br>\n*Operates ancillary equipment at the basic level; enters demographics, usage, needed supplies, measurement, archival.<br>\n*Provides basic understanding on ancillary and Cath Angio equipment (Angio Jet, Volcano, U/S, IVUS) used in services.<br>\n*Performs routine cleaning of procedural area and equipment.<br>\n*Stocks assigned room with appropriate supplies needed for procedures.<br>\n*Provides basic knowledge on service specific supplies (wire, sheaths and catheters).<br>\n*Provides basic knowledge on sterile technique.<br>\n*Verifies and completes all documentation to include, EPIC and Inventory systems.</p>",

          "text": "<p><strong><u>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p><p>Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.</p><p><strong>Education: </strong>Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology school. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.</p><p><strong>Experience: </strong>One (1) year Radiologic work-related experience.</p><p><strong>License/Certification:</strong></p><ul><li>Fluoroscopy Certificate/Permit by California Department of Public Health - Radiologic Health Branch within 90 days</li><li>Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support by American Heart Association (AHA) within 180 days of hire</li><li>or</li><li>RQI Healthcare Provider Advanced Life Support</li><li>Diagnostic Radiologic Technology Certification by California Department of Public Health - Radiologic Health Branch</li><li>Registered Technologist - Radiography by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists</li><li>Basic Life Support by American Heart Association (AHA)</li><li>or</li><li>RQI Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support</li></ul><p>&#xa0;</p><p><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE</u></strong></p><p>These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education or licensure/certification.</p><p>*Learning the principles of radiation in relation to imaging techniques.<br>\n*Understand the basic supplies for procedures.<br>\n*Learning the safety requirements of the basic procedures.<br>\n*Learning about the anatomy and physiology in relation to the procedures performed.<br>\n*Learning the procedure indications, disease processes involved and treatment options.<br>\n*Demonstrate acceptable communications skills.<br>\n*Learning to recognize the specific age needs of the patients.<br>\n*Learning to build a trusting and collaborative relationships with colleagues and patients.<br>\n*Understands and applies the principles of PCARES to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.<br>\n*Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Sectra PACS (IR Only), Merge-Cardiovascular PACS (Cath/EP only), Epic, ARC Helios Supply System, and iRcoder.</p><p><strong><u>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</u></strong></p><p>The Physical Requirements and Working Conditions in which the job is typically performed are available from the Occupational Health Department.
