    "description": "<h2>What's the role?</h2>\n<p>As a <strong>Lead Software Engineer (Scala, Java, AWS, REST Services)</strong></p> you will design, build, and operate backend services that power HERE’s state‑of‑the‑art mapping technologies. You will be part of an agile pod team focused on developing scalable, automated geo‑spatial processing, enrichment, and transformation platforms that ensure the freshness, accuracy, and relevance of HERE map content. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle - from shaping product vision and translating requirements into technical designs, to implementation, testing, release, and ongoing support. Working closely with cross‑functional partners, you will help deliver reliable, high‑quality solutions that meet evolving business and product needs. In this role, you will take end‑to‑end ownership of the software you build, applying and extending CI/CD and DevOps practices to ensure operational excellence. You will collaborate with Lead and Principal Engineers on architecture, design, and code reviews,  provide technical guidance for specific software modules, and mentor engineers within the team.
