This position supports daily operations while contributing to a welcoming, respectful environment that reflects and supports the mission of The Salvation Army. The role helps maintain order, promotes sustainability, and builds positive relationships with customers and donors.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide courteous, professional, and responsive customer service at all times.</li>\n <li>Support daily store operations, including opening and closing tasks as assigned.</li>\n <li>Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual standards, including displays.</li>\n <li>Receive donations and handle all items respectfully and appropriately.</li>\n <li>Sort, price, hang, tag, and stock merchandise according to established procedures.</li>\n <li>Maintain proper organization of merchandise by category, colorization, and established rag-out schedules.</li>\n <li>Perform cashier duties, including operating the point-of-sale system and processing transactions accurately.</li>\n <li>Follow all cash handling policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Restock merchandise and assist customers as needed throughout the store.</li>\n <li>Adhere to the Thrift Store Employee Handbook and all established policies.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred.</li>\n <li>A combination of education and at least one year of relevant work experience preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.</li>\n <li>Experience using a cash register or point-of-sale system and handling cash accurately.</li>\n <li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team.</li>\n <li>Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and instructions.</li>\n <li>Basic math skills and ability to manage transactions responsibly.</li>\n <li>Dependable, punctual, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Generous paid time off, including paid holidays, sick leave, personal days, and bereavement leave</li>\n <li>Medical, dental, and vision coverage for eligible employees</li>\n <li>Short-term and long-term disability benefits</li>\n <li>Retirement plan</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>*Benefits may vary based on position classification and eligibility.</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Please submit your resume and letter of interest to http://internal-usesalvationarmy.icims.com</p>\n<p>External candidates interested in this position, please apply online at http://careers.salvationarmy.org/</p>",
