          "text": "<p>Trupanion is&#xa0;seeking&#xa0;a detail-oriented and proactive Operational Accountant to join our Finance Operations team. In this role, you will ensure that Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Procurement, and Commission processes are efficient,&#xa0;accurate, and aligned with financial reporting requirements. This role requires&#xa0;strong&#xa0;accounting knowledge,&#xa0;analytical&#xa0;problem-solving&#xa0;skills,&#xa0;attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex operational processes.&#xa0;</p><p>As the Operational Accountant, you will&#xa0;lead process improvement initiatives across&#xa0;these functions, drive operational efficiencies, and support ongoing&#xa0;enhancements&#xa0;while&#xa0;facilitating&#xa0;recurring monthly and regulatory reporting. You will&#xa0;build strong relationships across the organization and contribute to the continued growth and success of a high-performing Finance team.&#xa0;&#xa0;</p><p>This position is <strong>open to candidates in the Seattle area.</strong> You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule where you will work from our casual, pet-friendly office at least 3 days a week.&#xa0;</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:&#xa0;</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure AP, AR, Procurement, and Commission processes are efficient,&#xa0;accurate, and&#xa0;aligned with&#xa0;GAAP requirements.&#xa0;</li><li>Calculate,&#xa0;validate, and process commissions accurately based on sales&#xa0;and business&#xa0;data.&#xa0;</li><li>Oversee AP, AR, and Commission system and process changes, ensuring proper testing and validation.&#xa0;</li><li>Analyze AP, AR, and Commissions data to support informed decision-making across the business.&#xa0;</li><li>Lead initiatives&#xa0;to implement a procurement function at Trupanion&#xa0;</li><li>Partner&#xa0;cross-functionally&#xa0;to&#xa0;identify&#xa0;process improvement&#xa0;opportunities&#xa0;and&#xa0;implement&#xa0;solutions that enhance efficiency and data accuracy.&#xa0;</li><li>Support&#xa0;audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.&#xa0;</li><li>Perform monthly account reconciliations and support cash forecasting and analysis.&#xa0;</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:&#xa0;</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s&#xa0;degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business,&#xa0;or a related field&#xa0;preferred&#xa0;</li><li>3+ years of accounting or finance operations experience, including AP, AR, and Commission&#xa0;processes&#xa0;</li><li>Experience supporting&#xa0;1099&#xa0;processing, annual filings, and state reporting requirements,&#xa0;including Unclaimed Property, preferred&#xa0;</li><li>Advanced Microsoft Excel skills&#xa0;required&#xa0;</li><li>Experience with Workday or other ERP systems preferred&#xa0;</li></ul><p><strong>Skills:&#xa0;&#xa0;</strong></p><ul><li>Strong accounting knowledge,&#xa0;including&#xa0;a&#xa0;solid&#xa0;understanding of AP, AR, Procurement, and related&#xa0;accounting principles&#xa0;</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy&#xa0;</li><li>Strong critical thinking and problem-solving&#xa0;abilities&#xa0;</li><li>Proven ability to analyze financial data and translate insights into actionable recommendations&#xa0;</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills&#xa0;</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and meet deadlines&#xa0;</li><li>Understanding of 1099 and unclaimed property processes&#xa0;</li><li>Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement&#xa0;</li></ul><p><strong>Compensation:</strong></p><ul><li>The base hourly&#xa0;range for this position is $33&#xa0;- $38&#xa0;on a full-time schedule.&#xa0;</li><li>Along with base compensation, Trupanion employees are currently eligible for monthly bonuses.&#xa0;</li><li>We want all employees to be invested in&#xa0;Trupanion’s&#xa0;success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members.
