You will design and create layouts and documentation within a BIM environment for electrical and mechanical building systems that meet project and technical specifications. You will use computer-aided design (Autodesk Revit) and other specialized software tools to coordinate &amp; generate detailed layout plans, schematics, schedules and drawings for electrical and mechanical systems. You will maintain accurate and complete change and version control on all design files, documents, and drawings. You will incorporate best practices to address design space constraints and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and building codes. You will collaborate with engineers and other project members, and you may conduct or participate in site visits to inspect installations or troubleshooting problems. &nbsp;Our engineers and designers are the technical experts for Powell projects.</p><p>Essential Responsibilities<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Achieve a detailed understanding of the project scope of work documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, MEP systems interrelationships, construction sequencing and project schedule.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Facilitate problem solving and coordination, as may arise, between MEP Subcontractors during construction.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Validate design issues related to MEP and suggest alternative solutions.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Incorporate all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Assist in the scope review, budgeting and justification of MEP change work order.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Creation, coordination and administration of MEP related materials, systems and shop drawings submittals.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ensure that all MEP coordination activities adhere to relevant Quality documentation/record requirements.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Incorporation of Client markups &amp; comments into relevant deliverables.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Download drawings and information from the Web, SharePoint, or project websites (FTP, ACC, etc.).<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Must have solid working knowledge of the most current modeling applications software in use by Powell, including being able to create, manipulate, and coordinate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Order materials.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Interface with sales, customers and the shop.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to take verbal and general written direction well and turn that direction into appropriate, working design documents.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to type, proofread, spell check work without supervision.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the design team, either via posting to website or the Internet or via hard copy.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Fluency for integrating data, such as spread sheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects &amp; deliverables.</p><p>Minimum Qualifications<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology or related area.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a similar MEP coordination role within a BIM environment.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Fluency in the current version of Revit software.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Fluency in reading 2D plans, electronically or hard copy.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Fluency in Autodesk Navis Works, Autodesk Design Review and working knowledge of 3D layout and design.</p><p>Preferred Qualifications<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Basic understanding of power systems.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Advanced drafting/CAD skills.</p><p>Skills, Abilities, and other requirements<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Basic computer skills using Oracle, Word, Excel.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to create Revit work sets and an understanding of Revit work sharing process via ACC or similar.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to order materials electronically.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Document and archive work pursuant with Powell retention requirements.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Acknowledgement of any/all Powell confidentially and/or Non‐Disclosure requirements pursuant to this position.
