Description
Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen utensils, dining room dishes and flatware, and operating equipment. Assists culinary staff in basic food production and/or food plating.
Compensation:
$19.85/hour (non-exempt)
Reporting Relationship:
Reports to: Sous Chef
Supervises: N/A
Quality Standards: Conduct individual and business affairs in highest ethical and legal fashion. Establish and contribute to a supportive, creative, enthusiastic, and cooperative working environment for all. Build strong communication links with supervisors, peers, and employees. Responsibilities
Essential Duties
Washes, sanitizes, and maintains cleanliness of all kitchen utensils, dining room dishes and flatware, and operating equipment.
Keeps kitchen clean and safe (i.e. mopping of floors, and trash removal), as well as equipment used in work stations.
Assists other stations as needed (i.e. cleaning and peeling vegetables, food dish-up, and or plating).
Properly stores all operating equipment and kitchen utensils at the end of each shift and ensures that proper storage requirements for food and beverage products are met.
Performs side jobs as assigned (i.e. cleaning of walk-ins and reach-in stoves).
Ensures that dry storage area is swept and mopped daily per shift.
Ensures that spice racks and bulk food storage containers and lids are kept in a clean and sanitary manner.
Fills paper towel and soap dispensers daily per Hawaii Health Code.
Maintains equipment per prescribed standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualification/Requirements: Previous training and/or experience as a steward, preferred.
Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
Requires working to the established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
Requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Able to think and make effective decisions quickly.
Ability to create effective working relationships with employees.
Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
The employee is required to operate objects, tools, or controls.

"InternalResponsibilitiesStr": "<p><strong><u>Essential Duties</u></strong></p><div><ul><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;\">Washes, sanitizes, and maintains cleanliness of all kitchen utensils, dining room dishes and flatware, and operating equipment.</span></span></p></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;\">Keeps kitchen clean and safe (i.e. mopping of floors, and trash removal), as well as equipment used in work stations.</span></span></p></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;\">Assists other stations as needed (i.e. cleaning and peeling vegetables, food dish-up, and or plating).</span></span></p></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;\">Properly stores all operating equipment and kitchen utensils at the end of each shift and ensures that proper storage requirements for food and beverage products are met.</span></span></p></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;\">Performs side jobs as assigned (i.e. cleaning of walk-ins and reach-in stoves).</span></span></p></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;\">Ensures that dry storage area is swept and mopped daily per shift.</span></span></p></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;\">Ensures that spice racks and bulk food storage containers and lids are kept in a clean and sanitary manner.</span></span></p></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;\">Fills paper towel and soap dispensers daily per Hawaii Health Code.</span></span></p></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;\">Maintains equipment per prescribed standards.</span></span></p></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;\">Performs other duties as assigned.</span></span></p></li></ul></div>",
